I fall directly in the black range of the ping color code chart which says to typically play a standard lie angle (I understand every company's definition of standard is going to be a little bit different)

What lie angle do you currently play?

I play 1 upright. Height isn't really a good indicator of the lie angle you need.

1.5 flat. Not 100% sure it's the correct lie, but it is what it is.

2* flat, played Ping Zings, orange dots, back in the day. Had my current set (Mizuno MP-18’s) bent to 2* flat.

We’re most of y’all fitted for these lie angles or have you just rolled with them all your life?

A lie board is like 20 bucks and you can get your irons bent by any golf shop

Sort of seems silly to believe that someone 5 foot 7 and someone 6 foot 3 should have clubs only a half-inch different in length.

If a fitter pulls out a lie board to fit you for lie angle, run, don’t walk. They’re a chop that learned to fit at a taylormade seminar in 1997 and haven’t learned anything since.

I would rather use a marker to draw a line on a ball than a lie board

This is a pretty accurate statement and a lot of guys do this. This is an interesting video below from TXG on it. You need to know what your shot shape is. After my experience with Buddha snd then going to watts it was a bit confusing. My natural shot is pretty straight but when i do move it it’s a slight draw. Watts pulled out the lie board and i had a slight draw with the mp20 mb so we decided to make it 1 flat. I’ve played standard lie for most of my life so, maybe I’m one of the lucky ones that’s lie board and test aren’t that different.

Mine as well, but my draw typically starts straight and moves. 1 upright moves the start line left (I'm a lefty) and moves it back to the start line.
