I will be 71 in 3 weeks and with my recent spine surgery, we made the decision to move up to the White Tees.

While my pride is hurt, it was a far more enjoyable round. My surgery and a year off has cost me 10 yards on my irons.

While I still feel strong , I scared to swing too hard at the ball like I use to.

The beauty is that I can still play the game that I love.

Glad you are getting your health back Bopper. Always really enjoy your club and equipment reviews. Golf is still hard from the white tees!!! My dad is 84 and refuses to play from the reds. Feels like only women and children should play from there even though his distances warrant the move forward

71 and just moving up to the white tees? impressive. even with the spine surgery i doubt you will be moving up to the senior tees anytime soon.

This is all that matters. There's joy to be had just being out on the course. Plus, there are still so many different club and ball combinations to try!

No shame in that at all! I hope I’m alive and able to keep playing golf from the whites at 71.

Here’s to you still hitting them long and straight

Thanks.

Right now I am really high on the Meridian Putter that I got.

It really rolls the ball nicely and give enough feedback for me.

Gold for me.

I’ll go up again soon I guess.

I don’t seem to be getting stronger or more flexible.

We’ve tried rebranding tees to encourage golfers to play the proper tee.

I refer to the gold tee as the “Legends” tee.

Move up and play with your dad for fun one day. It’s fun to play up and hit different shots. He might do it IF you go up with him.

I’ve played every tee at our course. I play a format sometimes where the tee varies. We might play 3 blues/3 golds/ 3 whites on 9 holes just for fun.

I played Teal at RTJ Legislator last week, I joined them on the 3rd hole because I can’t make the tee time due to treatments.

Drove 4 par 4’s and was 45 yards from the front on the par 5 5th.

It was a blast

About halfway through radiation treatments.

7am, 5 days a week. The prep for the treatments are the worst part.

And I think I tore my rotator cuff in my right shoulder to add to the misery. Find out about that Monday.

So it’s not been a fun summer.

Thanks.

MRI in a few weeks, have to wait till the radiation treatments are over to do it. Doc is pretty sure from the screaming in agony when he pushed my arm over my head that’s what it is.

At least they didn’t wheel me out like the lady in the next room in an ambulance (no joke), she passed out from a shot.

When he asked if would have a problem getting a shot I said I came in hoping to get one.

So idiot me goes out and plays from the purple tees on the leg today. Just to see how the swing works. Gotta say I love cortisone, shot 77 with 3 putts dead in the heart shot and 4 lip outs.

If I had a dollar for every cortisone shot that I have had, I could buy a new set of clubs.
