I swear the fairways at Webb are better then I’ve seen them before. Very green and cooshy.

If only I could stay out of the giant concrete canal on 14.

How are the greens? We went and tried that Cam2 Springview course Saturday because it's getting harder to find morning tee times now

Webb has been coming along really well in the last few years. They need to stop over seeding the greens in the fall b/c they’re absolute dog shite from March till June

That won’t be possible given the amount of traffic. But it’s definitely pretty good by Webb’s standards

Greens could still use some work.

6 green is awful, everything else is decent on the front. Haven't played the back nine in a while.

I was impressed with the fairways today but the greens were typical Webb. The net between 15 green and south foster was down and I didn’t realize it. I was cringing as my ball bounced across the road but somehow missed the cars. They really should move that green over to the right, there’s plenty of room

I grew up around the corner from Webb and have played over 500 rounds there. Actually the best condition I've ever seen it in was middle to late summer 2019. With LSU closing and reopening in a trash state, all the frat baws with no skill or knowledge on how to treat a golf course have migrated over. Add that with just the increase of golfers due to covid and those greens have struggled for over a year. With that level of repeated rough play, this course will have a pretty low ceiling on the greens. Might have a better chance once they shite can dumas and move some of the budget over. I was told by the woman that runs the course (Gretta), they hope to do some green renovations and resurfacing at that point. Some of the greens will have to be bigger if the course wants to continue to take on additional play.

Was told last fall by one of the maintenance workers that they will be expanding #10 and #16 greens for sure. Those 2 definitely need it. Off the top of my head, I'd add 8, 14 and 15 for sure.

Yeah, I think they should really take all the completely turtle backed greens and flatten a least one side out. Those ones are always the smaller ones that have eroded and shrunk over the years. They also have room to lengthen some holes, which would benefit the pace of play I believe. If they can figure out how to move the maintenance area out of the middle of the golf course the could make one and 17 a bit longer, maybe a shared green. Also, you could move 11 green back, and the tee up. This would create space to redo the 10th green. 3 green could be moved back and right of where it currently sits, moving 4 tee to the left to force more shots away from the apts.

A good course design firm could make that place a gem in the middle of the city.

Agree with most everything said here. Course is definitely looking the best I’ve seen it in a long time if ever. Especially impressive with all the adverse weather we’ve been getting and how Webb usually retains water for a while.
