I’m with that I am, but then don’t send out a low battery warning to try and trick me into coming in. Seems like if they actually closed at a certain time he would’ve sent a message that said “we are closing in 15 minutes and need the carts in” or something like that.

I agree with you here, but by your posts you've made it seem like you would have told them, ok we'll walk the last couple.

Where were you at?

I don’t know what we would’ve done honestly. I’m generally a rule follower so if they said they are closing I probably would’ve listened or at least called to ask if we could finish by walking.

I really don’t want to say, something feels weird about telling strangers online where I was yesterday, I guess I’m feeling paranoid this morning

I play all over Dallas and know people that work at a couple courses. It's not like someone is going to call them if you say.

If you were keeping pace, then he was dead wrong.

I would contact his Boss about this.

Yeah, I am actually surprised there are people arguing for the course. If you book twilight hours, you should expect people to play until the sun is down. That is part of the job for a cart kid. The morning shift is going to have to get there before the sun comes up, and the evening shift will be there after it goes down.

I'm not arguing for the course. I've played places that require the cart back at a certain time, but it's typically broadcast and explained at the outset.

If the course didn't post a time that carts had to be in then no you were not in the wrong. I'm fine with courses saying when carts need to be turned in, but customers should know before spending money on a round. It can't be whenever the guys in the proshop feel like going home.

Working as a cart boy in college I was there past dark for every afternoon shift during the summer. It shouldn't be a surprise to these guys that people are going to play until dark in the summer.

Moral of the story is don't book a 4pm tee time for 4 people and expect to get finished before the carts are due back to clubhouse.

lulz...

Get the frick out with that logic.

Every fricking course everywhere should know how long it takes for an average round at said course.

If they are willing to send you out for 18 holes late in the afternoon, then they should know they're not gonna get the carts back two hours later.

So, the moral of the story is...if you're gonna take my money for 18, the weather is fine, and I'm playing at a good pace, then frick you...I'm getting my 18.

Okay I feel better about how I handled it now thanks guys. I left the course wondering if I was being a dick.

We were the last ones on the course but it’s because we let the two singles behind us play through and the 4some up ahead quit after 9, but I emphasize that we were not slowing the pace the pace was crazy slow on the front 9 but not because of us

Playing at Kosati pines years ago with a big group that plays there regularly. The marshal at number 1 says there is a tournament teeing off on the front and sends us to ten so the tournament can get underway and try to finish the front in 2hrs or less. There was a five some in front of us that were slow as molasses. Another marshal comes driving up and shows us on the cart gps that were 5 minutes behind the pace of play. We say its the group ahead that's slowing the play down, and you can see open holes ahead of them. He drives to the next group and they let us through. We get to number 17 tee box and here comes the marshal again giving us grief about slow play. We look at our time on the gps and we are ahead of our scheduled pace of play and kinda get the red arse for him badgering us and told him that as soon as we finish 18, our front nine , we would be talking to the pro And we did. Marshal changed his tune after that. If you are having a tournament, don't allow outside fricking play. Another CSB.

There is no easier job in the world than a cart guy or pro shop guy waiting for two carts before leaving. They are getting paid to do nothing other than watch TV or practice putting/chipping. If I were a cart guy I would love sitting on the clock doing nothing but waiting for two carts.

Sounds like course handled this terrible. My only response to the pro would be then bring me a cart that has a charge so that I can finish my round I paid for. The cart guy works until the last cart comes in, which they should always assume is at dark. If that’s too late then don’t allow late tee times to rent 18 hole carts.
