I want to get a walking cart so I can get out there and do some walking. Anyone got any good recommendations?

I've got a Clicgear 4.0 that's been pretty good.. Has extra attachments like seat and a small cooler .. easy to fold up and rolls well

I saw those on Amazon. I think that is a little out of my price range. I guess I could have thrown that out from the jump. I think $150-$175 is about my max.

then check out the Caddytek.. that was the first one i bought and still have as a backup. Pretty sure I spend 149 on it..

And personally I prefer the 3 wheel one.. Not a fan of the 4wheel

How important is hand brake vs. foot?

I have an Amazon special and a Clicgear. Both roll your clubs down the course pretty similarly. Only thing the Clicgear has that I'm a huge fan of is a hand brake. The Amazon brake is down by the back wheel so it's mildly more annoying to operate than the hand brake.

And yes, 3 wheel is better than 4 wheel for turning purposes.

lol I haven't thought about it. The last one I had years ago was a walmart special. didn't have any bells or whistles, just two wheels and a frame with straps. lol.

I guess I'd prefer the hand break.

I'll chime in that after going with a cheap one when I first started walking, I realized 2 things.

1. Hand brake is such a big benefit
2. The drink holder needs to be accessible while you're walking. I didn't really think about this when purchasing my first one, but it really helps to stay hydrated when you can get to your water while walking

Another item that is not a necessity, but I think it's helpful is an attachment for holding sand. I bought an add on after the fact for this. I felt like I was doing the right thing by walking more, but I kept realizing I was leaving divots and had no way to fix them. So, I bought a bottle and clip so that I could fill it up with the course sand.

The man said he has a $175 budget and you’re recommending an upgrade of $900

A push cart is one of those where it pays off to pay more for a good one that will last.

Ive had a three wheel caddytek I got off Amazon for about $100 and it’s 4 years strong, if I had to guess close to 100 rounds. I broke the umbrella holder but another one that clamps on the handle.

I have a Caddytek, and it is nice overall and fits in your price range. My one caveat is that I have an Ask Echo bag which has quite a large base. The front wheel on the Caddytek ends up rubbing the base quite a bit and has even taken a small chunk out. I'm sure it's not an issue on most bags, but wanted to throw out to be aware of if you have an AE.

I end up sitting the base of the bags on top of the lower arm guards. It gets the job done, but is still a little frustrating considering the money I spent on both the cart and the bag itself....

Are you turning the wheel outward?

Yes - wheel arm is fully outward/extended. If the arm was an inch or so longer, it wouldn't be an issue. As I said, likely not an issue with most bags. Just something to be aware of for Ask Echo users.

Been looking at what's available, and Trilite is looking pretty good to me.

Look on eBay for a Clicgear. You can find a good one for $175. It does not have to be a 4.0, but you should get a used Clicgear with that budget range.

Foot brake is way more durable. I just had one where the handbrake was held together by a bunch of plastic parts and ending up breaking after about a year. I'm just getting ones with foot brakes from now on.
