Yeah. It’s a pretty bizarre setup. The low score of the 4 days doesn’t win the tournament. It’s a bit bizarre. Not saying it’s not working it’s just weird.

Still makes it for good tv when the winner is getting a brinks truck full of cash.

That's what LIV thought too, and no one watches it.

This isn’t LIV. This is the top 30 players of the year going toe to toe. If you think nobody would watch it I question your sanity.

I never liked it when the winner of the Tour Championship wasn't the FedEx Cup winner, but I would venture to guess the players like this scoring format.

Also, $18,000,000.00.

If the final of a match play tournament was Adam Schenk vs Taylor Moore, nobody would watch it.

Hence, a stroke play tournament with a format that guarantees a stacked leaderboard

People would def watch. With that being said not as much as it would with it being a full field. I get it but this format is also very stupid. There’s a golfer who is 5 shots better than everyone through the first two days but somehow is tied for the “lead”? But the player who may have been 5 shots ahead cause of strokes given to them will be credited for a tour win is just flat out dumb.

The guy leading after 36 holes also has the lowest 36 hole score without additional Strokes. This argument is getting shite on so badly now lol

Yeah it’s embarrassing you don’t understand someone who actually has a legit 5 stroke lead is tied for the lead and someone gifted strokes my get credit for a tour win.

Shadow board after the second round.

1. Morikawa -15
2. Bradley -10
T3. Schauffele -9
T3. Hatton -9
T5. Hovland -8
T5. Burns -8
7. Schenk -7
8. Rahm -6
T9. Clark -5
T9. Fitzpatrick -5

A couple odd things. Hovland is 7 back in this tournament and is tied for the lead. Hovland could be given a tour win while also losing by 6 shots to morikawa. The 2nd odd thing is Morikawa could win the FedEx cup without winning a single tournament this year.

Yeah Hovland is having quite a couple of weeks

He’s gonna have a 5-6 shot lead tomorrow at minimum

No real drama sadly for Sunday again this year

Hovland 198
Xander 199
Morikawa 198
Bradley 200

Instead of a 4 horse race one guy has a 6 shot lead and this “tournament” is now unwatchable. Hovland is playing great but this is an extremely weird system. You like it the way it is. That’s ok. There’s a ton of people who don’t by this obvious thread. I know it’s hard for you for people to disagree but that’s life. They wanted the winner of the tour champion to be the FedEx champion. That’s ok. They probably shouldn’t give them a tour win if they’re gonna handicap it and give players up to a 10 stroke lead and they also need to understand this championship we have this year could be unwatchable cause there’s no competition on Sunday unless Hovland has an aneurism on the course today.

It is too many shots for the separation.

30 tee off but only 10 really have a chance to win.

They should group by 10s and not have anyone more than 4 or 5 back.

I don't see a Hovland meltdown to where Xander has a chance to win today, but anything is possible...

Not ideal for the final round for only two players to be in contention like this...

This is a battle. Xander is playing lights out and Hovland keeps making big shot after big shot.

Yep. Huge putt there. I'm glad this is close, and I'm also glad they are talking about the money at stake. Expensive putts.

Let's go Xander.
