Top Golf review

We got rained out for our usual game so 6 of us went to Top Golf.
Rented 2 bays. One for practice, one for games.
It was fun. The golf balls are about 20% off on flight or so. Having the practice ball helped us dial in numbers.
The food was ok. Service was good. Had a beer, some wings, fried dill pickles, etc.
I would do it again. After we figured out the flight characteristics of the ball, we did great.
The bay next to us was basically 3 couples who never play. They were raw at golf at best, but looked like they were having a blast.
I was surprised at the poor quality of the bay clubs. Each of us had a handful of our own clubs so it did not matter. I thought when Calloway bought Top Golf they would put better clubs in the bays.
All in all, it was fun. I’m sure we will do it again sometime.

Hmmm...this concept sounds interesting.
I hope it spreads as, based on your description, it seems like a fun way to hangout with friends and work on your game, no matter your skill level.
Please keep us posted on the success of this company in the future.

Maybe we can see a few more of these places pop up nationwide. Sounds like a decent time.

Calloway needs to upgrade their clubs now that they own top golf.
I’m sorry I disappointed some of you, but for me it was new.
I had seen them, but I play 150 rounds a year so I had never thought about going.
It was new to me.
I’ll probably go if asked again.

How many locations do you think they will max out at?
Maybe 50?

They already have 64

Is that just USA or worldwide?
I could see it as an alternative if I did not already play so much golf.
Was not crowded today, but we opened the place up.
I’m probably not their target market, but it looks like a good thing for groups, birthdays, hail and farewell, etc.

Interesting trivia fact:
TopGolf started out as a Scottish company and its first location opened in 1999.

Except it was in the UK in 2000...

Outside the pandemic ...Top golf is usually in the top 3 grossing liquor tax generating venues in the cities in which they operate if not the top generator. . They're a great entertainment addition to the cities..one of these in bourbon street area of NO with the amount of tourists could be the best thing that happened to NO...outside of of LaToya Cantrell losing next election...In San Antonio and Austin Top Golf is also the source of the best music venues in each city....both feature 2-3 live bands a night..NO could duplicate this and have a safe place for tourist to visit..get drunk, listen to good music, raise hell and play a lil golf...
