Agreed. Didn’t he 3 putt to go into a playoff?

I was pulling for him to win more than anyone I’ve ever pulled for.

That shot had to look good. Had the pin covered the whole way

Needed par to win.
Approach shot to the green looked great but it landed pin high and took a hard bounce through the green off the back edge. I think he chipped from off the green, and left himself about 7-8 feet for the win. Didn’t hit a solid putt.
Perhaps he putted from off the green, but it wouldn’t have been an official 3 putt if he did.

Exactly. Pretty sure he chipped from off the back.

I think he putted from off the green. Not technically a 3 putt though.

Wow. I don't think Cink's wife and kids were pulling for him.

I irrationally hate Stewart Cink, who is by all accounts a phenomenal fella, because of his 2009 British Open over Mr. Watson.

Actually he landed it short of the flag just like he intended but there was a really small slope right where it landed and it jumped hard and ran off the right side of the green. A yard shorter or longer and it nestles right up to the flag. He hit an absolutely perfect shot. Terrible break

There was a 10-15 mph tail wind when he hit the approach. Bad break but him not getting up and down was his downfall.

His par attempt was an absolutely atrocious effort.

Seems like I heard Cink himself say this on a podcast. He’s pretty candid about it.

that 7-8 footer was probably one of the worst putts he's ever hit. Dreadful putt consider the circumstance
