I'm currently in a sling from shoulder surgery, but if I get back on the course this year, I will try to pay more attention. I never hear it, and no one I play with ever plays music.

then the whole point of the weekend warrior playing out there is to have fun playing golf. It’s not that serious

Not everyone’s idea of fun is listening to your bro country playlist. Some people enjoy fun with some peace and quiet.

My whole stance is that if you’re not playing in competitive golf tournaments or playing at a golf course with strict rules, then the whole point of the weekend warrior playing out there is to have fun playing golf. It’s not that serious

I've been playing golf for 25 years now, for 20 of those years I never saw a radio on the course. I'm pretty sure throughout history people have enjoyed playing golf without a radio. A radio is not a requirement to have fun.

I played in a scramble last weekend and at one point my buddy backed off a shot because a certain part of a song was about to kick in and he didn't want to be swinging when it did. That kind of stuff isn't for everybody. Hell you hear how much people bitch about not even being able to watch LIV on TV because the music aggravates them. If you got guys that can't even watch people play golf with music playing, they sure ain't playing themselves with music on. I think OP is being naive to not know that it's so common now, but I 100% understand someone not wanting to play music while playing.

It's for sure under.

Because of this thread I've been trying to notice how many radios I see/hear. I've played twice and my CC and haven't seen or heard a single radio. It's pretty high end and there aren't usually many people on the coarse so I wasn't expecting to see any anyway.

Played a city course that was slammed packed and other than my group I only saw/heard one other group have one. They drove past us and theirs was playing way too loud. But I expected to see a lot more. I'm sure there were others out there that I didn't see obviously but I was actively trying to look and it was a slammed pack day on a public city course and didn't see much. No way it was near >20%.

A course with built in radio's being the exception obviously.

I know this wasn't directed towards me and like I said before, I'm not against radios, but being a pro doesn't mean you can't be trashy. No shoes on a golf course is trashy, no matter who you are. They are just entitled to do whatever they want on a course because they are pros.

Just not true

If you are in a vacation area, and the course isn’t giving you grief for it, it’s fine

All that matters is pace of play

Now if they course is gonna dictate attire etc then yes, abide by the rules

Yea I mean I'm sorry, I just don't think I could ever say that playing golf without shoes isn't trashy It 100% is. I've never in my 25+ years of playing golf seen someone do that on an actual course. Hence the entitled part of my post. I mean we're not talking about chipping around in your back yard.

Know of any courses that allow you to go barefoot? That's an honest question. I've never been to one that I know of. Hell most every golf course typically has a minimum of a polo instead of t-shirt requirement, much less playing without shoes.

I’ve seen it on a resort course in Mexico, that’s about it. People were playing shirtless too in swimming trunks. Clearly more of a vacation thing and obviously uncommon.

In the mid 80s, the LSU course had a sign that read: Shirts required on the 1st tee. I cannot believe I actually played shirtless, but it was fairly common

I think BREC did as well. No cutoffs also. Wild times.
