Is he a fraud?

I've never heard anything bad about him or been around him. Seems like a nice guy, though.

Tiger might be in trouble today.

Everything is starting right and moving right.

He just tried to hit a 9 iron right to left into a left hole location and it started right, and was moving right, missing the green right.

That
Ain't
Good

You also cannot miss that green left with that hole location. Think he was just trying to play the safe shot.

It wasn't a good shot, but he left himself a fairly easy pitch.

I'm way more concerned with Tiger's speed on his putting right now than anything else.

eta: ok, I'm thinking y'all may have been right

Tiger get your goddamn arms working faster(or better timing) or start aiming left.

This is a Captain obvious statement but Tiger just doesn’t make birdies anymore. He always seems to have the same opening round in every tournament. He needs to start coming out the gate so he doesn’t have to put pressure on himself on the weekend.

Easier said than done for sure.

I don't know if I can remember a birdie putt I've seen him have that is less than 12'

He just can't get anything close. I'm just hoping it will come as he plays more tournaments. I just find it hard to believe that he just can't get birdies anymore. He is getting plenty of distance with his clubs. I understood when he was hurt and couldn't rotate properly. Hopefully it is just something he needs to get back into a rhythm for.

Putting can come and go. Eventually he has to get back to being able to hit competitive approach shots you would think?

Tiger is in the top 15 on tour in strokes gained: approach

Really? That shocks me. Just going off watching him I would have said that was the opposite. He just doesn't seem to hit any of his approach shots anywhere close. Every birdie attempt is like 20' +

Nice eagle there for Tiger.

Phil having a rough go here. To just save bogey considering it took him three shots to even get on the green after his wayward approach shot is big. Could have been a real bad hole.

I mean, you see the guys that are putting it close, but it's not like your average tour pro is putting it closer than 20 feet on most of their approach shots. Find your holes to take advantage of, and hope you can get those ones close.

Averaging 20 feet from 125-150 yards would put you in the top 10 on tour from that distance.

I guess you're right there.

And Tiger squanders any momentum with a truly horrid stinger.

So, is Phil going to start making the button down a thing? I mean if he was in any decent type of shape, I guess it would look okay, but jesus

You see every one of Tigers putts. You don’t see every one of Matt Every’s putts
