Yeh, thanks for creating a complete fake bubble of what a golfer is worth, having Phil lie about the piles of money the Tour has, all so we can be forced to pay purses that aren’t sustainable that leads to us having layoffs and having to sell to PE

What a positive change

How anyone can say LIV was good for golf that isn’t trying to sell something is wild

So there is news about the PGA tour (and only PGA tour) and you still find a way to reference LIV golf.

The entire reason these layoffs are happening is directly because of LIV. You have to bury your head to not reference them here

Where's all the idiots who said this wasn't going to happen bet they don't show up to take their medicine.

I applaud you making this thread first to try and spin it.

Umm, yeh. He 100% is someone trying to sell something

You want him to say the truth?

“Liv had billions to burn so to compete we have to have mass layoffs and sell our soul to fricking PE”

LIV, Norman and Phil are by far the worst thing to happen to professional golf.

But mah more golf is good.

But what if those positions were unnecessary? That's a lot of hanger ons just milking the popularity of the best golfers in the world.

Phil is a fantastic golfer

He is also a major reason why professional golf is going to be far worse for everyone except a select few players at the top thanks to his greed

At this point I’m not sure once again how anyone can deny that

In before “everyone would do what he did for that money”. Well that argument loses all its weight considering the vast majority of golfers did actually pass that up….

People bitch about the money athletes make, but they were fine with pro golfers getting handed a $120M check just to join a league. And now look what all the LIV bullshite is doing.

I wouldn't let LIV players back in. They aren't necessary at all.

Yeah, we know.. golfers on the Korn Ferry don't make much. Hey, minor league baseball players don't make jack shite either. Never heard anyone say anything about them.

This is what the LIV fans have wanted all along. They just wanted chaos and drama.

Nope

I'm a traditionalist. I wished LIV had never come along. What threw me into the LIV camp was the rank hypocrisy and moralizing by the PGA supporters. The "blood money" squawkers were immediately shown what BS that was when it was pointed out Tiger, Jack and dozens of others had played or done business in these Islamic countries. And Jay showed his true colors by trying to cut a deal behind closed doors to save his own skin.

I feel like LIV supporters are about the same as gays for Palestine. They just wanted chaos disruption.

This is pretty damn ridiculous.

The blood money angle was very dumb from the tour. I always said that. But it was media fodder propaganda. To say that made you cheer for liv, while I guess you ignored the millions of idiotic progandada shite liv rolled out like “grow the game” and “time at home” is something

I am sure you remember when Tiger threatened to leave the PGA tour and start his own tour, subsidized by Nike, Amex, and I think Buick was going to be involved, if they did not increase the prize. But yeah it was Phil that caused the problem...I think a lot of things can be right at the same time. Tiger brought a sport to a commercial audience that drove millions into the game and money came with it. What do you think happens next? A lot of players show up to play for this money and it continues to grow. Well, now you have guys that are making 5-10m a year and I bet you can't tell me their last made cut.

The PGAT needed LIV to prove a few points both positive and negative. The product is stale - you cannot deny that, LIV made the PGAT actually thinking about how to spice up the one course interactions while not harming play. You cannot blame this all on Phil or even LIV for that matter because this horseshite was running loooooooooong before this. We just have a villain to point at for the time being.
