Hearing The Island is losing members left and right since Billy took over.
Raised membership price (which is still good imho) and stacked numerous tournaments on Saturdays. Feels like a money grab. Course is actually in good shape. Greens are getting better by the day since plugging.

It was the nail in the coffin when they let Daniel leave. A large group of members have follow him from sherwood to the island and now from the island to Greystone. I don’t think the island should lower regular membership but they should offer a very low group / corporate membership to get all the plant workers and contractors out that way.

The island needs to do anything to get members. They need to sell to club Corp tbh not just bring in a management group. And a bad one at that.

They didn’t let Daniel go tho. He was offered something that couldn’t be matched.

How has Greystone recovered post flood? Haven't been back but played a month or so prior to the flood.

Well, it is a public course. Yes, it has membership but after all it is a public course with relatively low green fees. So, I can see why a management group would come in and do whatever will raise revenue.

It's better now than pre-flood. Mostly due to management. Tournaments are run extremely well; the range is maintained better and open way more often; better chef with specials on Wed-Fri; and the course itself is in amazing overall shape. They punched greens 2 weeks ago and they're almost back to 100%. The spot killed some poa annua on #4 but it doesn't affect the roll at all. And the par 3 tees on the back nine are a little beat up. They don't get much sun on those two and the place is getting a ton of play recently. Membership is way up.

The course is in great shape and the club is running better than before in my opinion

Well, they actually reduced revenue by pissing off the membership revenue stream it once had to stay afloat. I will say I have never had a bad experience and the golf shop has always been pleasant, especially Tyler.

Looking at the membership rates (really more of a season pass since its public and you pay for a cart) on their website thats not going to be enough to keep them afloat. The tournament revenue is most likely much higher.

I understand the frustration, but to get some type of real membership where the course doesn't have to do this the membership rates will have to go up significantly. Just my take.

Greystone is in great shape and in good hands with Daniel & Chris. I wouldn’t mind seeing them increase dues a bit and turn private.

I was a Jr. member st the island for 1 summer. I really love the lay out and have always had fun there. I haven’t played in ages it seems. I never understood how that place stayed afloat. Pissing off memebrs is always a bad policy. It’s a shame to hear about this.

Talked to a guy yesterday who just made the move. He lives in Denham so it makes sense. He said he was never crazy about the Greystone layout, but The Island management change pushed him that way
