These numbers don’t seem bad to me. It comes on a Monday / Tuesday night.

I don’t think anyone is expecting it to rival any of the big sports league ratings. I have no idea what espn typically does on a Tuesday night but I would guess this is a decent bump.

Golf on Monday and Tuesday getting 750k plus viewers on cable is good

In what warped world does anyone think anything golf would be better?

For reference, here is what actual weekday NHL games average on ESPN

quote:

NHL on ESPN (including one game on ABC) has averaged 584,000 viewers to date

It seems ESPN would be really excited by the TGL numbers…

ETA: just looked up pre Covid pre split ratings for Arnold Palmer invitational Thursday ratings from 2019 and 2018

755k and 725k……

So what the hell is OP expecting as “good”?

Probably depends on what FSG, AMB, Ohanian, etc. used as an input into their valuations.

Agreed. I'd like to know what the average Men's CBB game on a weeknight draws. I'd imagine it isn't far from 750-850k.

This week was great.

Tom Kim is awesome in there and Kisner playing decent golf is also very helpful.

Product significantly improved with the hammer change.

No more hogging it when you’re ahead.

Yea I do like the new hammer rules. I actually think this is going to do really well on Tuesday nights.

I wish they’d stick with Tuesday, but it feels like every week it’s on a different day / time. Just play doubleheaders on Tuesday nights.

They would probably need to record on Monday to play on Tuesday given most of the pros travel and pro-am commitments

Good lord Tiger is clearly pilled out to hell tonight.

2 duck hooks and slurring, marble mouth with glazed eyes.

He does not look good.

And… he just hit a wedge from 199. He is absolutely plastered.

I have found this to be good entertainment

The matches yesterday had some great shots in em

I know this isn't traditional golf but it's giving me more golf to watch and this is entertaining.

Last nights was great.

The last one with Tiger and Kisner where they weren’t terrible was also fun.

Saw that. Worst I’ve ever seen him play. Something is definitely off with him

His Mother just died 4-5 days after watching his last TGL match. He probably isn’t dealing with it well.

All 3 Monday matches were very good, lots of good shots and clutch putts. Last night, not so much. I love the energy Tom Kim brings, he doesn't want to lose at anything. Tiger is dealing with a lot but man his swing is really off right now, should let Charlie play in his place.

He looked pretty good a few weeks ago. But yea I get it, he was still toasted last night.

Looked like me on hole 34 on the first day of a golf trip and 12 beers.

I just don't see how TGL survives. It is just so boring, these guys do not look like they are having fun. The technology is terrible.

Also, i might be the only one bothered by this. STOP MOVING THE EVENT! either be tuesday or monday, not both. If you are chasing ratings and you dont have a set schedule, you are doomed.

To be fair to Tiger, the caddie guy did say 99 multiple times. Is it really that hard to say 199? Yeah, on the golf course it is obvious that it's 199 when the caddie says 99, but it's a little tougher to tell on a simulator.
