Anyone have the Taylormade Spider ZT? Thoughts? The price tag is absurd but buy once cry once I guess.

I'll be interested if more people on tour ever make the switch from the Spider Tour X (the most used putter on tour).

I bought a Scotty Cameron for $550 and it sucked. But it’s ABSOLUTELY worth its weight in gold on the greens.

It’s the Indian, not the arrow.

I've purchased 4 putters:

2 odyssey's
1 Scotty
1 Evnroll

I sold the scotty, I plan to sell the evnroll because it's the worst of the bunch.

My gamer is a $100 wilson staff fang mallet that I got as a door prize at a tournament. I hate that I don't get to carry a cool expensive putter in the bag and putt lights out with it, but I've gotten to the point that I'm going to game what I putt best with, and it happens to be a "budget" putter

Also reading the green has nothing to do with the putter and making a good stroke has little to do with the putter. I think with enough reps you can get a feel for any putter, but how it suits your eye/alignment definitely matters

Zero torque doesn’t fit everyone, especially guys that are good putters already and release the putter a certain way. ZT putters normally require a change to the stroke

I had one and hated it. It requires a different stroke to get it on line. Went back to my slant neck my spider. It's interesting that there are little to no guys playing the ZT on tour.

I had the ZT and I loathed it.

It was terrible for me on long putts.

I love my Evnroll. Put it in the bag in 2023 and don’t know if I will ever go back to my Scotty.

Not big on changing putters. My most recent putter before the ZT I used for many years.

I’ve been using the CT for about a month or so. Really like it. It did take me a bit to get my distances down, first couple of rounds. It was kind of all over the place on longer putts. After an adjustment period, all that cleared up the biggest thing I like about it is it swings itself so easily. It is a heck of a lot less nerve-wracking over those 3-7 footers that are short enough to really expect to make, but long enough to miss.

To be completely fair I haven’t gamed it yet. But completely awful on the practice green. It’s a shitty practice green but still, doesn’t inspire confidence to to take it out onto the course.

I switched to the Spider ZT about four months ago.

Short and mid range putts have improved dramatically. I'd say a big improvement on anything inside of 20'

Longer (uohill) putts have been an issue. One, the face is extremely soft so you have to hammer the thing compared to my Scotty Golo. If you play mostly where the greens are not very big OR they don't have tiered greens it probably won't impact you as much.

My misses (when I miss my speed) on long putts are bad...really bad but I think some of that is just due to when I got the putter and the inconsistency of greens due to coming out of the spring, our greens were just punched AGAIN, the two weeks we had of rain, etc. so I think with continued use over the summer and through the fall with a similar climate I should be able to adjust to longer putts better.

In short, very happy with the purchase, it took about two weeks to spot pulling everything, havent considered going back to my Scotty once (although I stll have it).

GOAT putter. I gamed a Zebra that I couldn’t miss with for years until all the marketing wore me down and I bought a Scotty. Had trouble releasing the toe with it so it’s been in timeout for a long time.

I had a counter balanced 38” started out loving it, once the honey moon phase was over. I hated it.

Traded it for a lab oz with the insert. Much much better for me. ZT is a different animal though. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, they’re incredible, I can’t start a putt off line if I tried.

I'm currently gaming a very old Ping Anser that my friend gave me. She's beautiful but she's driving me crazy
