So now that LIV players can play all 4 majors is this put to bed?

I see both sides now. If you can get paid upfront and still compete with the best 4 times a year then why not.

As long as they've qualified there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to especially previous Masters winners..
Also I believe only a 1/4 of the LIV guys actually even qualify to play the Majors anyway ..so no biggie..
Qualifiying and winning are to vastly different things..

I agree…especially on the “opens” hence the name open
But at this point if you’re were on the fence as a PGA tour player….I’d say you may rethink getting upfront money if you can play the majors anyways

My only concern if I'm a PGA tour player is that I'd have this nagging feeling that the Saudis may get tired of dumping money into and inferior product and pull the plug.. While the Saudis have deep deep pockets eventually they'll get tired of it . Then what?

I agree. Only a small handful of LIV players could win a major.
Now, where do the World Rankings come into play ?

No one just “gets to play the majors.” They will still need to qualify and it’s way easier to do that by playing on the PGA Tour.

True.
I think it was just easier for the majors to say that they will allow LIV players than to be taken to court and deal with lawsuits.
PGA tour players have to qualify for majors all the time, like "The Longest Day" for Open qualifying.
So LIV players will have to do the same.

What percentage of Tour players?

The same can be and has been said by Brooks K. about PGA Tour players.
Looking at the Honda Classic Tournament. Exactly one player in this tournament can still win a major. One.

The thing is unless you are already a major champion, a few years playing LIV and you will no longer be eligible to play in the majors because you won’t be getting any world rankings points or automatic qualifying opportunities.
If you aren’t already qualified and playing for LIV you will never be able to qualify

the fact that amateur golfers were forced to pick sides in all of this is what cracks me up.
If Liv is good for the sport, it will succeed. If it isnt, it will go away. It's that simple.
I dont blame the LIV guys one bit. I also dont blame the PGA for acting like the clingy ex gf who wont stop bitching.
Competition makes everything better. It's the capitalist way.

Where did this happen. I must've not gotten that memo then because I watch both.

Incoming comment that they’re anti gay anti woman anti black and pro Russia if they’re standing with the saudis obviously! All of those crimes are on them if they’ve taken the money

odd take.

I agree, but what LIV is trying to do isn't competitive as they will probably never turn a profit and that is the least of their concerns with this endeavor.

Which is short for free agency.

Is it really competition when there is no Cut and a limited field playing only 54 holes...

Not sure what took so long. LIV is not trying to replace American golf. But that is exactly what the PGA is, American golf. LIV is international and it's going after younger viewers and bringing the big show to a truly worldwide audience. Today, the show starts in Mexico.
