-6 thru 17 to take sole possession of the lead in round one. Long courses like this are where the big bombers like Sam do well. Good Luck Sam

Edit: Finished the day -7 with the day 1 lead.

He’s a demon first three days. I know he’s making good checks but I’m hoping he can win one soon.

Add. Riviera is crushing the souls of some tiptop players today. Damn...

He's been on top of the leaderboard for most of the 2021 season.

Now can he put together four rounds? That I don't think is possible this week. He's an underrated Poa putter

His season is paid for already. Hope he relaxes and breaks through. This would be a cool tournament to do it at. Lots of big names he'd beat.

Bryson with a solid day off the tee. 2/14 fairways.

They think people want to see him struggle because of the comments. I’m sure some do, but the majority couldn’t give a shite and says worse every round they play.

ETA: my DirecTV guide says this is feature group coverage and he’s part of that group

I get that he's one of the few left on the course at this point. But to circle this back to the OP, why didn't we get more shots of Sam? He was still on the course dropping birdies left and right but he gets hardly any air time.

Yeah, didn't realize they were only following a few groups. That sucks.

If Tiger or Phil were playing you would see less even if they were over par. IIWII.

Sam doesn't move the needle? I mean, if you're watching golf on a Thursday, you aren't the stereotypical golf watcher, so I don't see why showing big names matters.

That three putt from inside 8 ft was tough to watch...

Cheering for Sam, dude consistently puts himself in great position on Thursdays

Any odds on him folding before Sunday and being irrelevant yet?

He set the course record at the course i work for. Most consider it a very hard course and he strolled up and shot 65. Amazing to think about.

I don’t know if this is a COVID thing and the tour has cut down its camera crews but it seems like you don’t get as much coverage as usual.

Wishing Sam good luck. It’s about giving yourself as many opportunities to break through. He will do it at some point. Hopefully this is the week.
