I posted the following on the Travel Board, with no feedback, so I am hoping to get some guidance here.

A group of four is heading to the Ryder Cup in September. We are staying in downtown Milwaukee - seeing the sights Friday, playing golf Saturday, and attending the Cup on Sunday.

We looked into hiring a driver to get us to and from Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, but the companies are mega gauging, and the prices are outrageous. We could rideshare with Uber or Lyft, but I’m concerned about actually getting a car when the tournament ends due to the mass exodus of people.

Any alternative transportation suggestions?

Also, recommendations for dining and/or breweries walkable from the downtown Milwaukee Hyatt? Recommendations for a reasonably priced course that rents clubs for Saturday?

Thanks!

We stayed in Milwaukee for the LSU game.

Mater’s is a German restaurant that’s good for dinner. It’s white linen not a bier hall.
Lakefront brewery was the best one we went to in town. They love LSU folks there.

There are plenty of bars up there. Those people love to pound beer. Heavy German influence in town. Great beer!

We almost made that trip but baulked with Covid.

There’s a terrific dive bar named Wolsky’s in Milwaukee. Not sure of the geography, but had a great time there. If you’re having a meal in Sheboygan, there’s a pizzeria called IL Ritirvo. Fantastic.

Brown deer is the most famous Milwaukee county parks golf course. It’s okay, kinda expensive for what it is and most of the other parks courses are half the price and pretty similar layout.

Id probably go down into lake geneva and play something like grand geneva abbey springs or thunderhawk in IL but these are all 1hr away.

I can’t help on transportation I’d look through the normal options.

I have nothing to add other than attending the Ryder Cup is so much fun. Cheering bad shots by the non host team players is unique in golf.

Contact Matt Tevsh at the Green Bay Country Club and he can answer all your questions and help you get lined up on a course. He helped me a few years ago on the trip I took for the game up there. matttevsh@hotmail.com

There may be a shuttle service running. I’d look at course, PGA and Ryder Cup websites for options.
