Replace hybrid with 3-iron?

Ditched the 3 iron for a hybrid back in '06. As hot as irons are now, I'm considering going back to a 3 iron.
Has anyone experimented with this? Anyone tried a hollow-body iron for a 3-iron? Anyone have one they aren't using and want to off-load?
Just an experiment for me, wanted to get feedback/tips.

I dumped my hybrid for a driving iron and won’t be going back to a hybrid anytime soon. I find the driving iron is more versatile, something about the hybrids just never suited my eye.

I did the same cause it was the trendy thing to do back in 2009. I absolutely hated my hybrid. I may be a bit old school but i could launch my 3 hybrid anywhere for 230-250. No control over the distance. I switched back to the 3 iron and i haven’t looked back. I absolutely love my 3 iron and i hit it off a lot of tees. The only thing i do consider is adding a legit driving iron. I hate the way hybrids look and a driving iron would give me a bit more distance with that option and i could dial it down a bit when need be. Just my 2 cents.

Might consider trying a utility iron aka a driving iron. It will be personal about what you launch better. Most people see a bunching with long irons because they lack the speed to launch them normally that is where a hybrid comes into play.
I struggled with hybrids but just got one recently that sits flat and has lead tape on it to reduce the tendency to go left. I also have a driving iron that is similar and may use instead and can switch out.

Ditched my Hybrid for the TaylorMade p790 2I and kicking myself in the arse for not doing it sooner. I hit that one, the Titleist TMB and the Srixons 2I. The TaylorMade feels like butter.

I've had my eye on the Titliest U500 2 or 3I. I hit the hybrid fine but I hook it more often than other clubs. possibly the shaft. But I hit my 4I really well off the tee so thinking more of a driving iron would fit me better. They are just expensive.

I love a 3 iron no hybrid in my bag

Not a shot. I can hit a 225-235yd shot out of a fairway bunker and stop it on the green with my hybrid. No way I’m doing that with a 3i.
I love mine. I’ll play crazy punch shots with it. I’m fairly decent with hitting a duck hook around trees when punching out. I can put the ball really far back in my stance and hit low screamers to get out from under trees that’ll just roll and roll.

Hybrids are so much easier to hit.

My x2 hot pro 20 hybrid is the best club in my bag, no draw bias. But if you hit your 4 iron better than your hybrid it’s worth a shot

I demoed the new Tittelist one iron a month ago and loved it. Very forgiving and steady hit it 195 to 205. The $250 price tag scared me away but I may ditch my 21 degree hybrid for this one iron. Have any of you hit this one iron?
