FINALLY pulled the trigger on a graduation trip to Cabo. Just set up tee time for Quivira in September. I know several on here have played it, any tips for a first timer? I’m a little unclear on the caddie situation. I think I read somewhere they rode on the back of your cart. Is this true? And what do y’all typically tip a caddie (admittedly I have never played at a course where I would have to worry about it). Thanks in advance!! I’ll post pics post trip.

Unless something has changed they don’t require caddies. I played a few years ago and don’t remember seeing any caddies to be honest.

Played several times, never used a caddy.

But just for future reference minimum of $50 per bag is what the caddy tip rate typically is.

Played it about 3 years ago and it was awesome. Funny thing is we got paired with a guy from Laplace which was crazy. The course is beautiful and No. 5 was a lot of fun. The three holes along the Pacific were great. The comfort stations were great and the one on the mountain had a great view of the ocean. The extreme changes in elevations really gave me trouble.

and we didn't use caddies. Not sure if they even offered it.

Enjoy.

Played it twice. Never had to have a caddie. On course food and beverages were great. Almost a mile (up the hill) from 4th green to 5th tee box, but drink and breakfast taco station halfway up the switch back. Hole #6 is sick. Only about 310 yards, but, after scaling the side of a mountain, players arrive at this beguiling short par 4 set 275 feet above sea level. Slanted below a massive dune on the right, the tilted fairway traces a cliff’s edge to the left before plunging downhill to a rock-walled green cantilevered over the ocean. A large deep bunker defends the left side of the putting surface. “It’s a very exciting little hole,” Nicklaus said. “You can lay up off the tee and play a short shot down to the green; or you can try to drive the green.” While it’s far from conventional, Jack believes “people have learned to love it because of the uniqueness of it. It’s something you certainly are not going to create unless you’re on the ocean.”

Have fun. Memorable round.

I’ve played it a few times and I’d suggest playing in the morning because the wind picks up in the afternoon.
Have a great time!

Sept in Cabo is miserable ....hotter than your mama's oven on Thanksgiving day! Let me guess you got a great resort rate....
