It's very nice but there are a lot of comparable courses in the Birmingham area.

It's pretty wide open. Greens are fast.

Make sure they aren't doing any maintenance before you go.

This is on my radar because it sounds straightforward and not as penal as some courses in the line of play.

Awesome course.......it’s a very playable layout, clean and well maintained. Played one of my best rounds in my life there when I played.

Following along here.

My mom lives on the lake in Wedowee, AL and I spend a good bit of time there. Pursell looks to be about as close as driving over into GA and playing my old high school course

It’s a fun course, usually in really nice shape.

They used to have a deal where you paid $100 to play all day, and included drinks, snacks, lunch. Didn’t used to serve alcohol but I think that has changed.

I’d recommend it.

Never been but have seen it a bunch through Good Good videos. Looks fun and not too hard. The Pursell Brothers they have on the channel seem like good people.

Great track. Highly recommend.

They are closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind.

As others have said it’s a great course and always in good shape. They have a par 3 there that has a massive drop off and the tee box sits high up on the hill and you can see for miles.

Had a work function there a couple of years ago. No golf, but we did shooting, fishing, and off-roading. I broke away for a couple of hours to hit the range, and they brought me brand new Titleist irons. Took the plastic off in the pro shop. Didn't charge me anything (I'm sure we spent big-time $$ as a company)

Stayed at those cabins with the putting green behind it. Bar stayed open as long as folks were buying. Would love to go back and play. Sorry, this post didn't have much to do with the course. You can see the earth-works of DeSoto's exploration.

They have a great practice area.
They do now serve alcohol.
It plays long.
If you can, stay at a cabin.
When the wind is up it’s hard as hell.
Very nice people. The Pursell’s came from a fertilizer manufacturing background so the course is immaculate.

I went for a long weekend about 3 weeks ago for a buddies bachelor party trip. Awesome course with some really beautiful views (#5 & 17 are amazing). Like others have said, its a pretty forgiving course if the wind is light. Fairways are like carpet & greens were in good shape. The greens were soft and not as fast as I figured they would be, but I assume they weren't cutting them short due to it being so hot/dry and having to water greens so much. I would definitely recommend.
