CSB warning

I’m the farthest thing from a morning person but I hate how busy the courses have gotten since Covid started, especially days when I want to play solo.

Sucked it up and set my alarm for 6am on a Sunday morning and haven’t had such a relaxing morning in a long time. Played in 70 degree weather, my pasty arse didn’t have to wear sunscreen, was able to play music on my phone, finished in 2 hours and 20 minutes, only occasionally having to wait for the greenskeeper to finish moving the pin.

Pulled in after my rounds as it’s getting hot and there’s like 3 foursomes waiting by the first tee.

Won’t be the last time

I have never done one quite that early. But 7:30 is my preferred tee time.

I started doing it a few weeks ago. Booked a 6:45 and have become addicted to it. Empty course, beautiful sunrise, great temperature, and the entire day still ahead of you after you finish.

Bonus Bloody Mary on the turn for the win.

Once late June, early July rolls around down here, this is how my group plays every weekend. Usually done by 10AM or so before it's too damn hot

Early tee time is good if you don’t mind waking up early and traveling. 7 am round for me at a decent course is like a 5 am wake up.

I started playing the early tee time in college so I could play 18 before 10:00 am class.

I've played the early tee time midweek and still make it to work for 9.

On the weekends, beating the masses out and having the rest of the day in front of you.

On vacation, tee off at dawn and be on the beach by 11.

Literally no reason to ever tee off after 8 if you can help it.

I like the 5pm tee time mid-late summer when the course is deserted.

My preferred time to play. Greens are a little slow but I love the peace and quiet.

Perfect, going to Destin this week, got my 7:15 booked at Indian Bayou. Get back to the condo, scarf down a sandwich, hit the beach.

Best time to play. Be mindful of the dew evaporating on the back nine.

Shhh....please don't tell everyone this. I love playing the earliest tee time for all the reasons already mentioned.

I don't know how y'all do it. I'm just not a morning person. At 7am, my body is still sore/tight, a bit groggy, and just not ready for the day yet.

My FIL does this when I'm at the in-laws house. Wants to tee off at like 730 and I have consistently have a shite round.

4 downvotes on a fairly benign post. As Bryson would say, it's nice to be living rent free in some of your heads.
