You think backers are going to bleed money without a return? My gosh. Gullible.

Forever? No. Do I think they'll front $100 million plus to show both players and broadcast partners that their money and product is real, yes. And profit motive isnt the only driving force here, straight out of the Saudis mouths on numerous occasions.

And if they do that it's certainly possible that this could be successful. Especially if they are able to operate behind the scenes.

Gullible is key word again. Business men are only worried about one word when it comes to backings. Profit.

These aren't business men, they're trillionaire royals.

Im beginning to think clueless may be the key word for you as you seemingly have no idea about any of the Saudis past dealings. Which quite honestly isn't that much a surprise, you seem to comment on subjects you're quite ignorant on often

Would they? When have they ever shown an initiative to innovate.

They’ve never had to

The Tour has constantly indicated they'd fight all of these issues to the death. Thinking they'd instantly just do an about face is a pretty dumb thing to say.

You realize the context of my post right? It was in response to the scenario where all negative ramifications of playing LIV ceased to exist. At that point, the Tour’s hand would be forced.

For 1-3 days maybe and then when all the good players are playing people will watch.

I don’t believe “all the good players” will ever be playing. So we will just have to disagree here.

Negative ramifications like not being banned from the PGA Tour and majors and Ryder cup.

There will always be negative ramifications for playing LIV.

That's a definitive statement that I don't think you have any evidence of. Bad actors have been involved in all sorts of shite forever and it always fades. Especially if they can find a public face and stay in the shadows

You know where they got 2 billion from right?

quote:

These investment managers earn income by charging service fees or commissions to their clients. In some cases, managers charge set fees; in others, they charge a percentage of the total assets under management (AUM). For example, if a manager is taking care of an investment worth $6 million and charges a 2% commission fee, it owns $120,000 of that investment. If the value of the investment increases to $10 million, the AMC owns $200,000. If the value falls, so too does the manager’s stake.

Like I said they are in this to make money. Not lose it.

The PGA tours money is tied to actual viewership, popularity, sponsors, etc. LIV has a basic money machine. They can’t compete for players with that as the competition

Would be interesting to see them go after the NFL next once this succeeds.

The Saudis? The same people that have funded the whole operation. What's your point?

Businessmen? Who do you think is running this league. They have way more money than the PGA and are not worried about making a profit. They want control.

China making a play for basketball players would be equivalent to Saudis and golf. It’s not about making money for them, it’s about power, control and relevance.

That these guys are in this to make money. Not lose it. They have to take a loan of 2bil from the Public Investment Fund. This is not a private deal.

You clearly have no idea what the Public Investment Fund is

It’s 100% about money. Read up on the public investment fund.

Lol. Done here. I’ll be back next year when this is all dead.

It's not a public entity and if I charge a business I solely own interest it's an expense on the books of my business and income on my personal books. Money never actually changes hands, it's a paper transaction.

It's fine you don't know what you're talking about, but I'd stop insulting others if I were you.

Ahh, so now we're going back with an edit taking the public mission statement of the Saudis, who kill people for disagreeing with them, as gospel.

Gullible was a word I believe you are familiar with. Or maybe just plain stupid is a better word choice.
