Heading to the beach next week with a large group of family. Plan on playing some scramble with a group with a wide range of playing levels. With that being said, what are some good courses near Pensacola for all levels of enjoyment/ease of access. Thank you.

I used to play tiger point in gulf breeze. It is a nice track. Enjoy

For as nice an area as Pensacola is, quality golf is severely lacking. That being said if you're staying at the beach, Tiger Point or Hidden Creek in Navarre are your best options. Pensacola CC is nicer than both of the aforementioned but you have to know a member to get on.

Played it 2 summers ago, great green complexes

#18 is a cool finishing hole, that wind coming off the water was whipping when we played it

Played Tiger Point a few times. Great track, but conditions were always hit and miss. Hidden Creek seemed to always be in better shape. Just liked the Tiger Point layout better.

Perdido Bay is a decent layout just south of Pensacola.

How is Marcus Pointe? I played there 20ish years ago when it was fairly new and it was really nice. Seems I had heard it had fallen off a while back

Specifically because you said large group scramble with a wide range of levels, look no further than Osceola Municipal. It is a fun course and very cheap. It's the best bang for your buck in that area. Don't expect resort conditions but with the lack of hazards or forced carries you wont spend all day losing balls and all will be able to scoot it around the course and have a good time.

Playing Tiger Point on Monday

There's not much around close by except for Tiger Point and Hidden Creek

Played Tiger Point several times. I like the layout, but as someone else said, course conditions are hit or miss. I'm playing Friday and will report back.

Played Pensacola Country Club back in the day. They have a nice finishing hole on the bay

You might want to take a look at Scenic Hills. It is located near UWF, so not to far from the beach. It is an older club, but it is a fun track to play.

I played Perdido Bay and Soldier Creek last week. Overall I liked Soldier Creek the best mainly because I just had a terrible round at Perdido Bay and it had lots of water. Both were in good shape and the greens were nice.

I like Marcus Pointe, it is a great value for a really fun golf course. Probably want to check for maintenance schedule when you are in Pcola, but you will enjoy the layout and the old style design.

What do you mean by old style design, Cajun?

I played lost Key last week. For all the hate it gets, it is in spectacular condition. Greens are beautiful without a mark on them. Fairways are plush and easy to hit off of. If you hit the ball relatively straight it’s a great course. Obviously if you don’t you will struggle but if you can relax and get over a lost ball every now and then I would give it a go.
