Byson attempts this and comes up 10 yds short of the green.

Don't get why some he has to stretch the limits. He hits a good 9 iron and he is probably right on the stick.

He must have misread the barometric pressure

Not sure if you noticed but a solar flare got out of hand on the sun and knocked his ball down a bit. PW was the right club

Some Chinaman in Beijing farted right when Bryson was making contact thereby throwing off the equilibrium of the frictional capacitor

At the PGA Championship he hit a 196 yard pw. I don't think 177 is a problem.

I was taught not to overswing with a wedge. But i guess when it's shaft is as long as a seven iron it doesn't matter.

What does this statement even mean? Are you trying to give golf advice to a major champion? This is his game. He's gotten very damn good at the balls to the wall approach. Obviously it's worked out ok so far..

I’m hitting a smooth 5 iron and still make a par like Bryson.

Well let me explain it for you since reading comp is not your strong suit. He's hitting PW 175 or whatever the hell it is. But the rest of us arent and would be wasting our time to try bc it's not smart to overswing your wedges. However, it's different for him bc his wedges are different than 99.9% of golfers.

It's not golf advice to a major champion, it's golf advice for the guy who thinks he should try to hit his PW 175. But go ahead man, you can do whatever the frick you want to do. Go out and get you a puma hat with an lsu logo and try to rip your PW 175, a-hole. Obviously it worked out ok for Bryson.

I think some of us are questioning his strategy. When you swing at 100%, you have a very good chance at missing. Why not swing at the more consistent 90% and choose a club up. I can get 150 out of my pitching wedge if I want but very slim chance it goes towards the target. 9 iron is way more consistent at that distance and it’s a controllable stroke. He’s seemingly less consistent from that distance than other players and it’s because he’s trying to get a little more juice for the squeeze.

Chambo has immense talent but when he is a fraction off, it can go bad quickly at the speed he swings.

So is it safe to say the talk of Bryson fundamentally changing golf should be sent to the trash heap?

Nah Bryson just needs a wedge game, he is far from being a dominant player just because he can hit it far…
