New Putter Recs

I’ve been putting with an old bronze Ping Pal for years, but I think it’s time to retire the old girl.
My first instinct was a Cameron but I had no idea they were $400 and up. I saw an Odyssey Stroke Lab on sale at Dick’s for $200 which seemed reasonable.
My question is- how much better are the Cameron’s and are they worth that kind of money? Will there be a noticeable drop off from one to another?
Any other recommendations would be nice. TIA

old bronze Ping Pal
I grew up on a Ping OBlade. I’m back to a Ping right now. I’m loving it.

Do you have an arc stroke or a straight back stroke? General rule is if you are straight back, a mallet putter would work better for you. If you have an arcing stroke, a blade would be the best. You can search golf review sites (MyGolfSpy, Golfalot, Golf Monthly, or Plugged In Golf) and get ideas of which putters are getting ink.
Go get fit!

Putters are all about feel in my opinion
Every time i went to Edwin Watts I would putt around with the different putters. I found a used Scotty GoLo that Felt great and I drained everything with it. After 4 or 5 trips I finally bought it. Have loved it ever since

A used putter might be proved better.
In general, putters don’t wear out like a wedge or other clubs.
Get fitted.

Watch the mygolfspy video on putters. Cameron's have very little game improvement technology in them. They have excellent marketing and excellent resale value with them.
Buy a putter with some tech that will improve you misses. I am currently looking at a SeeMore because I need help with consistency in my stroke.
ETA: Cleveland makes a damn fine putter at a good price point. Just hung out with their new Frontline series for a while. Felt amazing, but not what I need at the moment.

I’m a fan of the Cameron’s. Like the guy above said they hold their value and the resale is great 5 years down the line when you want to get a new one. I had a Newport 2.0, I traded up to a phantom x 7.5 that is probably the best putter I’ve ever owned. It has legitimately improved my game and taken a few strokes off my handicap. Go get a putter fitting and find the putter that gives you a confident feel.

Callaway Preowned website is having a pretty good Black Friday sale. The “outlet” and “like new” condition are basically brand new and you’d never know they’ve hit a single ball

IDK if fitting is a good description but my instructor provided me with a bunch of putters that he thought might work and provided feedback based on what he saw. If you demo’ed just the entire Cameron phantom X line there are a ton of small differences that I probably wouldn’t have picked up on.
It was a good experience for me but I guess if you just wanted to go to the PGA store and demo putters on your own that could work for golfers that are more knowledgeable then me, which there are plenty of.

Absolutely.
Analyze swing path. determine correct putter length. Adjust weight of putter. Determine if a blade or mallet best suits your swing. Even recommend grips that will help limit wrist action.
Do it.

The hosel is more important than this. There are plenty of toe hang mallets being played

Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line CS...played with a couple of people the other day who were using it and they couldn’t stop talking about it.
$250...and they were putting really well with it (as much as I hate to admit it )
