Need some drills to shorten back swing

Looking for some ideas to help shorten my back swing and maintain a proper wrist hinge. I tend to over extend my back swing and collapse my trail arm a little too much. I know I could just google some but I was looking to hear from people that had this problem and what worked best.

The best way for me is to go to the range and practice 1/2 swings then see that is actually where my full swing should be. But, it takes going to range to get comfort and confidence.

Putting a head cover in either or both of your armpits is a classic one.

1) Get Old
2) Get Fat
It will take care of itself

I had the same problem with my backswing being much longer that it should be for an amateur.
My fix: During the swing, when my left shoulder touched my chin, I would start my downswing. This shortened my backswing and my ball striking became more consistent.

I used to have the same issue.. practice what feels like a 3-4 swing (will be a full swing) until this feels normal. Then adjust from there. Now my swing is much shorter and I’m trying to reverse the process results haha...
Btw, this won’t be an overnight change. Donit for several weeks and you’ll see a change.

Don't let the name fool you, but I think you need the Swingextender. It doesn't really extend your swing. It tightens up loose parts. Easily the best swing aid I've ever used.
Watch the part of the video with Phil. Swing shortens immediately.
