Need a 200-220 fairway club… 3w need not apply

Looking for advice:
I need a 200-200 fairway club, but for whatever reason I can’t hit a 3w.
My 5i goes around 180-190
My 18 degree hybrid handles 190-200
I bought a 2h (15 degree) but can’t seem to make consistent connection. However, when I rarely do I have launched it as far as 245 with a good roll.
I’m thinking about removing the 2h and trying a 5w.
So, my question is…. How many of you carry a 5w and how far do you carry it?

I go 3w then 7w. 3 carries 235-240 and gets 245-250ish total. 7 wood is a 220-225 carry with little rollout. I can grip down and hit a cut about 210 with it too.

7 wood would be perfect for you given your distances, which are similar to mine. 7w carries 210-215.

Could be the length of the shaft. Maybe shorten your 3 wood an inch then add some lead tape to get the swingweight right?
Problem you will have with a 5 wood is that it’ll be the same loft as your hybrid and will go a similar distance ( though slightly longer due to longer shaft)
Callaway UW in 17 may be worth a look as it is really long and plays more like a hybrid but is easier to hit

I have an older TaylorMade M6 9W that's 24 degree that I built.
It's my 210-220 fairway club. Also can squeeze a little more when off a tee on a long Par 3

7W is what you’re looking for OP.
Also, try putting your 3W into an upright position.

I’d check out a different hybrid setup. An 18 degree hybrid should be longer than 10 yards more than your 5i. Unless they’re pretty strong lofted

Callaway Paradym Heaven wood.
7 wood loft with a 4 wood length shaft.

Can I ask what your miss is with the 3w and 2h?

I carry a Ping Icrossover 4i that on average carries 220ish.. definitely can carry it further on a perfect strike... I find it easier to hit than hybrids.. but that's just me
7wood isn't a bad option either

Primarily a top. Can’t get ball in air. No power. Not hitting square on face

I thought you had to be a minimum of 70 years old to carry one of those

Dustin Johnson and a whole lot of others disagrees with this statement.

I used to always steal my buddies 5wood. For some reason I never mishit it, which I always found crazy cuz I’m not a great 3 wood player.
It was ALWAYS dead straight where I wanted it, 245 carry.
He never let me keep it tho, I even offered to buy it from him
Luckily a couple years ago I found a 2 hybrid in my dad’s bundled mess of clubs. I took it to the course one day and had near identical results, which I also found crazy cuz I always sucked hitting hybrids. Same thing, it’s a 245 carry but has a sweet baby draw. I came back to him one day and said “what the hell is this thing doing in your bag, I know you can’t hit a 2 hybrid
” he said he bought it to try it once and couldn’t hit it for shite, so it’s been in my bag ever since

I gave up on three woods. 5wood/7wood to four iron. A good three wood rolls out further than my 5 wood but carries shorter by 5-10 yards.

Callaway Heaven wood. 3 wood body, 4 wood shaft, 7 wood loft. So easy to launch. Easiest wood to launch since the old Adams Tight Lies woods
