I know a guy that has played most of the big ones, The Country Club in Boston, Pine Valley, Cypress, Augusta, etc.
He said the best course he’s ever played and his favorite was by far Merion.
The best I’ve ever played but not exclusive was Torrey Pines South.
Course is incredible.

Torrey’s generally in pretty good shape and the location is awesome. I just don’t love the design. Feels pretty monotonous with some of the holes. Wish they used the canyons a little bit better as well.

Champions in Houston
Didn't think about Champions. Played there, too. Got a couple buddies that are members and could play anytime, but that guest fee is too damn steep for me to make it a habit. I do like drinking beer in the locker though. So much history there. Cool place, no doubt.

unless someone has played Pine Valley you are the winner. It's rare to find yourself in a place where someone has played Peachtree.

Philadelphia Cricket Club is a strong contender.
