King Ranch, were you at?

I’m thinking about joining out there, have they redone their greens? What’s the story out there right now?

They re configured many holes(#1 is now a par 4 instead of 5 and yes, new greens)

Excellent condition and worth the drive.

Can confirm. Played there Friday and Sunday. Some grass around greens not fully matured yet, but the course is in great shape. Greens firm and quick. All greens were redone, some re-shaped and holes 1,2, and 7 are completely different. 18 green moved closer to the lake where it should be. Really nice renovation

How’d they do that? Used to be a fairly short par 4. Tee off across the street and pushed the green back?

I played it a couple weeks ago and wasn’t impressed with with the changes. I guess they were trying to make the course a little easier which I really don’t understand because it wasn’t overly difficult before. Hole 2 was a much better hole before the changes IMO. They could’ve just taken out some of the slope on that green and left it at that. Hole 12 they moved the tee so far up that you can hit three wood straight over the green.

I think the greens are going to be really nice once they’ve had a chance to soften up but I would’ve probably just changed some of the slopes and adjusted the bunkers and left it at that.

They moved the green closer to Robs teaching facility and moved the tee box probably 100-125 yards east closer to Money hill parkway. It’s plenty long.

There have been complaints about that losing the old number 2 but part of getting a renovation was selling those lots where that old green was to pay for it. So they couldn’t just change the slope.

Hole 12 is a drivable par 4 but it’s 280ish from the blues. You hitting your 3 wood over that?! Impressive! I love having a drivable par 4. It’s one thing we were missing.

This change was the most controversial as it prompted legal action by the homeowners that used to have a view of the course. Now they'll have a view of someone else's golf course view home.

Greens are hard. Hopefully they soften up soon. The course is nice overall. I think the anticipation and the dollar amount spent might have some wondering where the money went if you haven’t played it in the past but I assure you they definitely did a nice job on renovating. I hope they don’t stop. The pitching practice area needs work badly.

I am playing there Friday if weather holds off. First time since the renovation. Curious to see the changes.

How are the fees compared to Beau Chene in Mandeville?

I live off 59 and am considering joining a club. MH is a little farther for me but not unreasonable, just curious about price differences.
