I'll be in N.O. and wish to play a quality course next Tuesday (would play solo; don't mind being paired with strangers). I am unfamiliar with courses in the area. I have no access to private courses. I also don't wish to travel south to TPC course. Any feedback is appreciated!

I'm also open to traveling & playing in Baton Rouge as I intend to pass through on my way to TX.

Unfortunately, a limited selection on that criteria becomes more limited with the City Park South course closed June 22-23. If you are worried about drive to TPC, it really is not that bad from Metairie/NO and you wont find anything close to that level of quality unless you drive 30+ minutes

ETA: I know that doesn't help you, but I would let people that have played more in area answer. I am fairly new to golf, and while I have played a decent amount of courses in area, I dont trust myself to give good advice. Avoid City Park North and Lakewood on Westbank. Joe Bartholomew isn't god awful, but about what youd expect for the price (but a lot of bird crap).

Thank you very much for the feedback! I will check the TPC website for tee times.

Update: over $200 for non-resident green fee. I'll keep searching. $140 maybe, but not $200+

Your only other option is Bayou Oaks South, which is decent, but it's not nearly as good as TPC and it's not much cheaper

The problem is this dude is playing golf the exact day City Park is randomly closed lol

Cypress Lake in Destrehan

Grand Ridge Luling

Oak Harbor in Slidell

Chateau in Kenner

English Turn in Nola- but public play is very limited.

Baton Rouge has Santa Maria

Copper Mill in Zachary- on way to BR

Carter Plantation- 40 mins to BR

I’m a member at Chateau, think it’s 85 for guest with cart for public. I enjoy it a lot. It’s not on par with TPC but I enjoy it more than city park south or lakewood. Chateau is much tighter than city park south, so if you want to blast driver it’s probably not the best option
