Is Memorial Park worth the non-resident green fee?

I usually love playing the course. I live just outside Houston and have to pay the full fee. Honestly, the rate is the same as a basic course next to my house; Black Horse. So, it's not that bad for Houston. It's high, but not outrageous.
Having said all that, it was in rough shape for a PGA and women's major course two weeks ago. Lots of weeds in the fairway and bumpy greens. I assume after working hard to have it ready for two professional events, they pull back a bit in the summer.

Thanks for the info, yea Blackhorse is way overpriced IMO. I stopped playing BH altogether, it's nowhere close to a $140 course. GCOH is much better for same rate, and IMO High Meadow clears BH for $30 cheaper.

Absolutely. High Meadow is my favorite course in Houston. It's just a bit of a hike to get there.

Yea, I love it. I live out there so it's my closest course. I'm just trying to play some others I've not played yet.

I refuse to play it.
I live in Sugarland, 25 minutes from Memorial Park and I spend enough money and pay city sales tax inside the Houston City Limits.
The whole city limits thing rubs me the wrong way.
On Blackhorse, it not near the same course 20 years ago.

That's kind of how I feel. Business in Harris County but I've gotta pay $100 more? Doesn't sound like it's worth the $143 from the comments here.

If you are going to drive that far, go a bit further and play Gus Wortham. Cheap rates for all players, not just residents. Admittedly, I have not played there in almost a year, but it's always in good shape. It's also just a very fun layout.
The one thing Gus and Memorial do that I really appreciate is separate out the cart fee for the round. It just gives some more motivation to walk when you can save $25. If you are into walking, there might not be a more walker friendly course in Houston than Gus.
