Has anyone played the LSU course lately? Was thinking about playing a round there and was wondering how the greens are.

They’ve got to be terrible. Going somewhere else would be your best bet. I’m hearing The Island is in great shape.

The only good LSU is for is playing a round for nostalgia sake...

Pick up and add 2 strokes when you hit the dirt...i mean "green"

Back when I was a student at LSU there was a cool chip-and-putt next to the course. I wonder if it's still there...

That has been gone for probably 10+ years.

I drive by LSU golf course a good bit and honestly the greens look to be getting in a lot better shape than they were this summer. I actually drove by this morning and thought about starting a thread but didn't care to hear the stories from people that played it a year ago and have no idea the shape it is in today.

I don't know anything about the rest of the course but if the greens are playable then the rest doesn't matter so much.

I haven't played, but the greens I can see from Nicholson look more green than sand/dirt.

Take it from someone who plays this course entirely too much. Those are far and away the best greens on the course. Get to hole 7 and question everything you know about what a "green" is.

LSU is great as a slump buster. Course is quite open, and if you accept that putts aren't going to drop like they should, it can be a low stakes round to tune up your swing. But I would recommend any other course for a legitimate, entertaining round.

The best thing going for LSU is that I can hit a 7 dollar large bucket on grass. They have a chipping green (sort of) and they have a little 3 hole putting green. It's close to me, so I make that trip rather frequently when I don't have time for a round of golf.

Would love for it to get back into its old shape but I think we are witnessing the final decline. Then I'll be screwed for affordable driving range access.

I’d love to see them make it a 9 hole par 3 course with lights. Keep the range and the par 3 course and sell the rest to TAF.

I hit balls a couple times a week there after class. Range is decent but the course is about what you’d expect for the price.
