I talked to the pro shop Monday. They are going to try to stay open throughout all the nonsense.

The course was closed Wednesday, but that's only because they got 2 metric shite-tons of rain Tuesday.

Lake Charles CC open. Clubhouse closed.

Putt with pins in and do not remove the pins. Try not to touch the pins when retrieving your ball.
BYOB not encouraged, but not discouraged

When I called a couple months ago they said I couldn't play because I wasn't accompanied by a member even though I used to be a member there. Did they go back to allowing unaccompanied guests?

Cane Row will dry up quicker than most courses in our area this time of the year.

A few courses are raising the cups out of the ground. When your ball strikes the outside of the cup, it's considered holed.

I saw an Instagram where they put 2” pvc pipe inside the hole so it prevents the ball from going all the way to the bottom. It makes it easier to retrieve your ball and doesn’t actually affect play. Could be an idea to suggest

I think it was pinehurst that did it

That is interesting.

ETA: Actually, this sort of defeats the purpose. The guy in the picture is touching the liner, so what's the difference between just picking your ball up out of the actual hole?

Yeah the guy in the picture is doing a terrible job of not touching the hole. To me it seems very doable to not actually touch the hole

Audubon has their cups 1/2" out of the ground to avoid a covid cesspool. Wonder how many hole in ones are being claimed out there lol.

Bayou Oaks put a piece of a pool noodle just below level ground at the hole when I played yesterday, worked well but needed to be lower in the hole to give better make/miss feedback. I am glad it shows that places are planning to adapt to stay open through it all

Carter is open. Double checked yesterday on our tee times for tomorrow. Although, with this rain I’m not sure its going to happen.
