Have lawyer file for restraining order to enjoin the tour from suspending him. Hearing on Monday. Total BS. Tested every day this week and this one positive.

I agree it was his choice. No dispute there. His choice cost him millions of dollars. That's also an indisputable fact. If he had the vaccine, he wouldn't have been tested this week at all. Maybe he thought through it months ago and decided it wasn't worth getting the vaccine costs even if he was forced to withdraw in the lead of a tournament. That's certainly possible.

But there's more to the vaccine than survival. I got it because I didn't want to have to miss 10-14 days worth of work/family if I were to ever contract the virus. I'm not really concerned about adverse health consequences of the actual viral illness. Rahm made his choice for whatever reason as well, and now he has to accepted the consequences. No need for everyone to bash the rules after the fact.

He wasn't suspended. He withdrew from the tournament. Once that happens, he can't re-enter.

He only withdrew b/c they made him. Sounds better for the tv. Total BS.

I read something of the gist that is hard for players to get vaccinated because of the their schedules. Idk makes sense if they are worried about side effects while playing and all. But also just cost him a lot of dough by not being.

But getting vaccinated doesn't guarantee you won't contract the virus and test positive, right. That's why you still need your mask and live in fear.

Except he wouldn’t test positive on tour because he would be exempt from testing and contact tracing.

I believe he had actually gotten his first shot this week

Hell, that's even worse.

If asymptomatic spread is such a threat and the vaccine doesn't prevent that, then the PGA exemption policy needlessly puts players and fans at risk, right?

If it saves one life. Why does the PGA not care about player and fan safety?

Feel awful for Rahm. At least it's a tournament he's already won and not at Torrey Pines in two weeks.

Hopefully he can make it back

It does though

Vaccine greatly reduced viral load which reduces spread, same as every other successfully vaccine

You aren't educating anyone here.

It reduces, but does not prevent...which is why I threw that one life nonsense out there.

We are around 10-15 days from cases dropping below the definition of a pandemic.

No amount of rationalization is going to justify what happened to Rham.

Don't be obtuse.

It's reported that about 55% of all pga tour players are fully vaccinated so that means the tour is still conducting alot of test on site. I bet the other 45% are going to do some soul searching and think dam what if that was me...40-100 on money list 7 shot lead with 1.6 million and 3 yr exemption on line on test positive.. I think you will see alot more guys getting vaccinated...like Tuesday..Monday alot are going to be at US OPEN qualifier ..so Tuesday da line will be long at Tour Covid testing trailer.

It is ridiculous that the PGA Tour is still making these players make that choice, given where we stand with the virus.

Why are they testing anyone? Why are we still contact tracing?

Again, frick the PGA Tour.

Can it be assumed that they knew he tested positive at some point prior to completing his round? If so, why would they let him continue playing?

This is a fair question. If they knew during the round, why not escort him off the course immediately?

Never said it did. Testing people who aren’t sick to try and end this pandemic is dumb and always has been dumb

I was just responding to your post where you went off in a tangent

They claimed the 2nd test came back while he was on 18 fairway.

Call me skeptical on that claim.

Why not just let Ram play by himself in the last spot, with his caddie? No harm could be done.

Probably bc he can’t be out there “positive” for covid while fans are out there. (I don’t agree, just assume that would be the reason)

What should have happened was they don’t open the Gates until 10 and let him tee off at 6 am by himself and get his round in. I know there is no pressure and he could go low in a morning round with softer conditions but he is so far ahead of everyone, he was going to win anyway
