Is this a hole in one?

Twitter link
I don’t know how to post a pic from Twitter but the ball is embedded on the inside of the hole. Basically it’s plugged on the grass part right above the cup.
Imagine the picture below but the pitch mark is on the inside of the hole not outside
In the cup or not?

Make sure ball is completely below surface.
If so, it’s a hole in one.
If not, remove flag- if it falls its in.
If not, obscure as it is, I don’t think it counts.

It’s in. Try to mark it, repair the divot and replace it. It will go in every time.

No
And if you ever have to ask, the answer is no

It is actually. If you repair the ball mark/cup and replace it’s nearly completely in the hole. There’s no way it’s not a hole in one. Imagine if it was somehow settled on a leaf or bark that was covering the hole. “Mark” ball, remove impediment, replace and it’s in. Same thing.

I’ve never hit a hole in one so I would HATE if this happened. If I counted it I would forever feel like I’m cheating but if it didn’t I would forever feel like I’m not giving myself credit.
A few months ago I had one that hit the lip and damaged the hole but hopped a few feet away. I was mad it didn’t go in at the time but now I’m glad it didn’t do that

It has nothing to do with marking the ball and falling in. What constitutes a hole out is either not embedded and touched flag stick not allowing it to fall. Or ball at bottom of cup. An embedded ball has to be fully under the surface. If any part of that golf ball is above the surface, it is not holed out and you mark, repair and place the ball as close as you can to the hole without it falling.

The ball would have to be replaced to the nearest spot, no closest to the hole. It’s not a hole in one.

Saw this and I really don't get why people are making this a thing. Of course it's a hole in one. People without an ace being gate keepers for this may be the most absurd thing in sports.

Simple enough explanation, but the Neanderthals none hole in one folks will still be upset.

Pretty perfect that my post was right after that faggy shite. No doubt I'll catch down votes for my opinion by holy frick golfers can be tards. "Allow me to determine what is good and what is not" said the 20 capper.

We have a rule in our marches. $2 birdies. $5 eagles, $40 HIO.
If an ACE is made, we stop the round, give the guy $40 each from each of us, all bets are void, go drink until the $120 is gone.
If this happened, we would be in the clubhouse for sure!

I hope that I never hit this shot.
Half my group would say holed and the other half would say mark it and step back.
I've had one hole in one, it happened during a club tournament.
I won 600.00 in my club hole in one pot, but my bar bill was 350.00

Would any part of you feel guilt though? Like you did it but did you really do it?

More commonly, sometimes the golf ball is leaning against the flag and the side of the hole.
If it is not below the ground level completely, gently remove flagstick and it will fall.
The rule is the rule. Don’t just walk up and grab it unless it is below the ground.
I can’t tell if that ball is completely below ground level.
