In a circle jerk echo chamber for Aberg the last 2 days, I was the only one seeing clearly enough not to get fooled, while you resorted to a personal attack for disagreeing with you.

Rory won a Major 3 years after turning pro. US Open. Did not win another till 2012. I think he won 2 that year.

Aberg is in his 3rd year and has 5 wins. Sorry that doesnt say over rated.

Meh. Ludvig choking this tournament away in extraordinary fashion does not make me right. Just like winning this event would not have made me wrong. It’s just another anecdote. But there’s nothing he can win or accomplish in this game that will make me wrong because my original take was essentially about hype vs. current accomplishments - ie the PAST.

He’s going to take a lot of heat for today. I almost feel bad for the guy because what has he achieved to warrant these expectations that he will be “the next big thing” (direct Jim Nantz quote from end of coverage today)?

He’s obviously a lot of fun to watch when he’s on like Friday. He plays fast and has a great attitude on the course. But I am so tired of hearing how his game has no weaknesses.

Aberg has TWO PGA tour wins thus far at age 26. You brought up Rory… how many PGA Tour wins did he have at 26?

You’re not even smart enough to understand why people are calling you an idiot or figure out who you’re actually responding to

Dude definitely has a tendency he needs to figure out. Seems like when the moment gets big, he’ll stop rotating, throw his hands, and hit the shut down toe draw.

He basically hit it on 11 and got lucky. Then he did it again on 12 and splashed it. From there, he was cooked and had the two way miss going.

He is very all over the place in his handful of posts on here. I agree that right now I think Akshay is probably better and gets far less praise. I agree that Tommy Fleetwood is better but I have no idea why that is a comparison seeing that Fleetwood is 35 and I very certain that Blades Brown is going to be better than Aberg by the end of the year.

But he called it that Aberg was going to choke even though he had a 3 stroke lead going into Sunday.

Aberg will have a long session with Dr Rotella and he will get him straighten out in time for Augusta!

Crazy to me that Nantz commented on an NBC broadcast.

Maybe CBS traded him before the Masters this year.

Anyone who follows golf knew that was likely to happen, he’s choked away most of the leads he’s had before. That wasn’t why he was being called an idiot

Cameron Young topped his ball and hit it into the trees on the 18th hole of the Valspar with a 1 shot lead. He lost to a guy with a bucket hat and yellow ball.

He was the only player to shoot four rounds in the 60s and still not win. At the time, had the most 2nd place finishes (7) on the PGA Tour without a win.

Is Young a choker because of that?

Come on man, give me a break.

His odds to win going into Sunday was -155(!!!!). -155 for a golfer is crazy. The next closest was Thor at +850. He was a huge favorite. And people betting on golf aren't people that don't follow golf. The majority of people thought he was going to win and the heavily favored odds shows that. Easy to say "anyone who knows golf knew he'd choke" but when it's time to money on it it shows the majority thought he'd win.

Yeah, the guy that can’t close out tournaments didn’t close out another one. What a prophecy to say he wasn’t gonna win

He literally birdied 18 and shot a 66 on Sunday to win Tigers tournament a year ago. STFU about closing out tournaments when it did it last year. And won much sooner than Cameron Young took to win.

And let's not talk about how he was the only Euro to record a full point at the 2025 Ryder Cup. When they literally almost gave the cup away.

So… a poster confidently predicts Aberg to fold, which was objectively based on the odds a pretty unlikely result.

You call him an idiot… and then Aberg folds as predicted.

And now you claim it’s no surprise he folded and that’s not why he’s an idiot while also not explaining why he’s an idiot?

No, that’s not what happened. Glad I could clear that up for you

Brother, Niemann won 5 times last year. It was valid in 2025 when this thread was started. He lost his game a bit at the end of the year, fired his caddie, coach, etc but seems to be figuring it out again
