You’d be surprised what a natural ball stiker can hit the ball with some upgrades every now and then.

Now...

Never liked the 690 CBs but I did play a set of 690MBs for about 10 years. That was actually back when I played a few times a month and I loved those irons. The heads are still hanging in my workshop.

Here's what I'm looking for: My 180 yd shot to spin enough to hold a green

Why would this matter to you if you are playing on soft greens? If they were "tour" greens then I would completely agree.

Are you asking why it’s important to hit and stay on the green even if they’re soft, Bagman? Or are you a better chipper than putter when the greens are soft and every footstep from the past week is still impressed on the ground?

Now it’s just obvious from the stupid handles.

The verbiage and crappy attitude makes it a no brainer.

Still manage to miss every birdie putt.

Wait, have I been emailing you back and forth about those M2s? I have IRL names on email and forget the screen names.

Yes, you have emailed me. I am going to get fitted for some P790s but it will be after the wife gives me a gift certificate to David Toms 265 for Christmas.

Oh ok. I'm playing my biddies M2 tours this weekend. His are standard lie/loft

Let me know when you get fitted. If I like his, I'll wait and buy yours as we discussed. I'm going in to hunting mode after this weekend.

Soft greens are receptive. Are you getting all of your knowledge(about golf) from the "Pros" at Dicks Sporting Goods still?

They’re MORE receptive. Still need spin to hold them though, right, Bagman?

But in general, I don't buy into the "channel" and "slot" nonsense.

Cally, TM and Ping(maybe others) are all claiming faster ball speeds because of this. I still have not hit any of them.

We could probably go find a few Rick Shield videos and check the ball speed numbers on his irons. Not sure if his older videos picked up club data though.
