This is the most beautiful course I have ever played. This is the view from hole 13.

Mountain golf in Colorado has some of the coolest views of any courses I've played. I just hate that grass, whatever it is.

Bent? Kentucky Bluegrass? I wish it would grow in the south

Bent grass greens are fine. I didn't really care for the bluegrass fairways on the courses I played up there.

Probably because Kentucky Bluegrass fairways become overrun by Poa annua unless you are backed by a huge budget to fight it. It's hard enough to fight Poa off on a courses greens, fairways it's (basically) impossible.

Other than that, I don't see what wouldn't be to like as far as playability goes. Especially some of the newer low-mow KBG varieties. They are as pure as of a playing surface as I've seen. Reminds me of zoysia grass when both are really dense. Almost hitting mat-like. Get some great lies.

Also, it could have been the courses you played and the absence of fairway cultural practices, such as topdressing, aerification, etc.

Go play on some kikuyugrass in Cali sometime. That shite can be awful.

Arrowhead is a great course. Colorado golf has so many different landscapes to enjoy.

I love Colorado golf. I've played some munis there, and some of Jack's courses. The munis are fun, and views are all breathtaking. But, I understand what he means by throwing money at the problem.

I actually don't care. I'm never in the fairway anyway.

I've played it as well. The par 5 on the back nine with the boulder in the middle of the fairway is one of my favorite golf holes I've ever played.

Used to live in Denver and played there several times, Arrowhead, Common Ground and Murphy Creek were my top three public courses around Denver.
