Every 5 years? 2 years? Whenever the wife will let you?

Also, when did you make the switch from game improvement irons to forged irons? And did you notice a difference?

I don’t think it should be a date thing. I buy equipment when it can beat my old equipment. Only thing I change based on time is wedges.

In junior golf. Too much offset when I had a left miss was a problem. Also, I needed to be able to flight short irons, which is another place it helped immensely.

Players irons can help or they can hurt. It mostly comes to what you’re trying to achieve with equipment.

I'm only a 15HCP, but I made the switch to forged irons a few years back and won't go back to cast irons. I have a set of Apex 19s and absolutely love them. The feel is great and just as forgiving to me as a GI club.

I basically upgrade whenever I get bored with what I have and looking to try something different. My wife doesn't really give me any shite over it. She knows once I started taping a shipping label to a box, that something new is coming in lol

I’m eyeing these bad boys.

Don’t ask me how often I get a new bag...I’m going to do some damage during the Black Friday Sale at Jones Original Golf Bag.

If I make it 2 years, I am doing extremely well.

Last year, I went from G400s to Cally Apex to Ping I500 to Ping G410....

I currently have the G410s and a set of Ping I Blades.

I am certified for sure... Since my wife and I were never able to have kids, I had plenty of disposable income along with buddies in the golf business.

I am starting to get the itch, good thing Ping delayed their new introductions.

I have always been a cast club guy. Never got use to forged irons.

I change whenever I think I’m leaving something on the table. I got fit for irons a few years ago, and know if it’s a bad shot, it’s on me.

Forged all the way until age makes me need cast

Yes I have and I was very impressed with them.

I don't hit practice balls any more, but if I did I would be the proud owner of a set of blueprints.

It's no secret that I am a big Ping homer because I have always been impressed with the Karsten and Ping story. Ping may have not always been great to look at, but they were always techinaly sound.

To see how Ping has evolved as a company with the younger members of the family in charge is truly amazing.

It's great to see so many young PGA Tour players playing Pings these days. If you get them, let me know how you like them.

And Pings have always held their value better than any other club.

I just changed to Scotty Cameron blade putter, I’ve always used a two ball putter - I’ve had the first generation and the second generation. So this is my third putter since about 1998.
Irons not really a date thing - most of the time it’s been from playing a decent course that has had a good rental set and if I’ve really enjoyed those clubs I’ll purchase them. Irons about 4 years. Drivers usually about the same, but I seem to change drivers about every 3 years.
Wedges changed this spring but it’s been about 12 years.
I’ve only purchased new putters, all others used.

I've been hitting the same Callaway Diablo Edge irons for almost 10 years.

Getting my first fitting in a week and will be almost definitely buying new irons and a new driver.

Yes, I did get her to sign off first. But she also just spent $1000 on a rug without telling me about it, so now it's time for some unhealthy revenge spending.

Wedges and drivers annually. Putters I just keep as I add them in so have quite a bunch. Get new irons every 2 years. Just switched from TM 790’s with OBAN shafts to PXG’s with Nippon modus shafts.

I am also a club whore

I have 14yo Mizuno MX-23s. While I wouldn't mind getting something new, I hit these pretty well. I could be very wrong but I've always been under the impression that the advances in iron technology isn't near the pace of driver/wood technology. For that reason, I don't think a new set would make a very dramatic change in my game.

Finally upgraded from my set of 2003 Titleist 690CBs.

I got fitted and bought the new T200s. The lofts are stronger on every club, ball goes further, and more forgiving I would say. I've gained 1.5 to 2 clubs, still trying to figure that out. I have stared down a few PWs only to watch it sail 15 yards over the green... Will take a while to adjust
