Hole in One playing a scramble

One of my worst nightmares is hitting my first either alone or in a scramble tournament where the rest of the field thinks your group is fudging the scorecard.

My worst nightmare is hitting a hole in one in a bad round.

You couldn’t even keep the card.

“I had an Ace!”
“But you shot a 94...”

My one and only was in a 3 man scramble in Missouri about 10 years ago. 80 teams out there. I called the clubhouse and said if there was one drink on my tab, the club was buying it.

Cheap arse, I know. Wasn't paying for a bunch of drinks for shite bags I didn't know. F em

I have come close but never have had a hole in one (or a double eagle for that matter). Amazing how some guys have had ten or twenty in their lifetimes. Years ago at Webb Park in Baton Rouge, a near octogenarian had a hole in one on successive weekends, using a three-wood both times on number six (par three).

Last year playing in a weekly 9 hole two man scramble that plays only to par 3's my buddy and I play a few holes to get warmed up. On number 4 which is a par 3 he aces it with a sand wedge, cool, but just a warm up. We go out and play the 9 hole weekly scramble and are paired together but not teammates. We get to number 9 trailing by one to our opponents(my friend that aced number 4) and his partner and my friend aces it also. Rakes in a couple of hundred for a hole in one pool that had gone untouched for a while. I've made three and only two paid off with side bets I had with the others in our group.

I don't blame you for not buying the 80 teams drinks but you could've coughed up enough to buy a round for your teammates.

I too fear the hole in one by myself. I know my group would believe me, but they'd act like a bunch of assholes and troll me about how it didn't actual happen.

I hit one to like 4" on Saturday from the red tees in a red, white, and blue scramble. That would've been a pretty shitty way to get my first.

I have never made a hole in one, but my uncle made one. He hit his shot so bad. He hit it short of the green, it bounced up, hit the rake, and rolled into the hole. Now how with a straight face can you claim that? We give him hell about it all the time.

Hell, I bought drinks for my partners all weekend. This was the 3rd hole of the tournament.

My only hole in one was during a scramble. Par 4 too, #13 at TPC Louisiana. Pretty easy to go for it once a partner is in the fairway, I'll take it!
