Definitely intend to go see Buddha when I get time, but any ideas on why Im hitting down and fat on my irons?

No clue if it helps but I slice my driver and smoke my 3 wood straight.

Try moving your ball position up one ball in your stance.

Have someone watch you hit practice shots. Focus on keeping your head still and focused on the ball. If your head is moving before impact that could be the cause.

You’re most likely leaning back. Try punching shots on the range until you hit it square. Feel like 90% of your weight is on the lead foot.

Remedy #2- Find an old (1970s) set of blades and hit them on the range. You’ll learn to strike it or else

I make a line with two tees 18 inches apart.

I hit balls from the line until my divot is forward.

In my prime in the '70s I owned a set of Staff persimmon woods & blade irons and later bought a set of Ben Hogan persimmon woods & blade irons.

I have this problem too and most of the time it’s due to not fully turning my torso/shoulders throughout my follow through.

On your takeaway- make sure your body's center of gravity stays in the same position as it was at rest. You still need to turn your hips, but there shouldnt be a weight shift to the back foot.

Huh?? How can you transfer your weight to your left side if you don't get it to the right side on the backswing?

Hover the club with the bottom of the iron at the middle of the ball..try it on the range first

Fairly confident this is my key issue. I swing flush if I take a practice swing but I think I lean back when starting downswing.

Probably swaying and not rotating. Try hitting shots with something in front of your lead leg.it should almost touch you at address

I do this myself off and on. I find it is usually 2 things for me. 1) too much weight shift on the back swing. I try to keep 70% of my weight on my left leg throughout the swing. 2) I am swinging too hard thinking I have to help the ball.

No weight transfer through the ball. Ball forward drill is the fix. Feet together then step through is also fantastic.
