It was a shitty course
I thought the course was great.

delivered zero drama
that’s a bit of hyperbole, but i agree that the final round certainly lacked what I was hoping for

the galleries were limited/sucked which provided zero energy.
I agree here. I wish DJ or Cam could have made a run and Rory and Ricky could have been there on the final hole with someone having to do something special to win it, but not every tournament will have a dramatic finish.

Nothing wrong with Clark, but the final round was pretty anticlimactic.

I thought the course was pretty interesting and fun to watch. The broadcast was one of the worst ever. I loved Azinger as a player and he seems like a great guy, but he sucks as an announcer, just like Strange, although Strange is an a-hole in real life. The on course announcers were equally horrible. The plane hum had to be almost as annoying as the trash cans slamming during the Astros world series games.

I thought this was a thread about the new BREC remodel.

this has been a lame final round. U.S. Open is my least favorite major.

People hated on the course and called it a local muni after round one because of the low scoring. It became incredibly tough after round one and the scoring tanked like people liked in the US Open but people still complained.

I liked how the course played. There were low rounds to be had but more holes than a normal tournament that could end your day and that back nine was a grind.

All that being said, the wide fairways was kind of ridiculous. It did give the bombers a good advantage but regardless, US Open fairways should never be that wide.

Also, I do think that was the lamest crowd that I've ever seen at a major. There was a good bit of people in the grandstands that maybe made it look like a smaller attendance, but even then the crowd was lame. Rory and Rickie had the most fans but even they didn't have a large crowd following them. Normally you'd have crowds crowded around every wayward shot but I don' think there was a single time all week that I saw a marshal having to back fans up so they weren't in the player way.

I thought the course was terrible. Way too gimmicky. Two par 3s longer than a par 4. An 80 yd hole. Several holes where tee shots collected down to the same small area to the point announcers kept saying, "Hope it's not in a divot". Any one thing wasn't necessarily bad, but all put together just made it too gimmicky for me.

Add in Morgan Pressel who would Not. Shut. Up. and it was by far the worst US Open in my lifetime.

LACC does not need another major.

The plane humming was the bigger issue

was just saying that. This is an extremely boring final round. USGA really missed the mark on this one. Crowd sucks too

It’s one of the 4 tourneys I watch every year and this year sucked. I could not get into it and I tried.

They messed up bad

Short par fours with brutal rough around the green (not fairway) will always be a bombers neutralizer, throw in longer par fours with narrow fairways and you have yourself a Lee Janzen winner
