I've played 13 of these 15 courses, each more than once.

I am amazed at how poorly judged Louisiana's list is:

1. Country Club at the Golden Nugget - Lake Charles

2. TPC Louisiana - Avondale

3. Carter Plantation - Springfield

4. English Turn - New Orleans

5. National GC of Louisiana - Westlake

Mississippi's list is much more accurate:

1. Fallen Oak - Saucier (T65)

2. Mossy Oak - West Point

3. Old Waverly - West Point

4. The Preserve - Vancleave

5. Dancing Rabbit (Oaks) - Philadelphia

6. Grand Bear - Saucier

T7. Dancing Rabbit (Azaleas) - Philadelphia

T7. Shell Landing - Gautier

9. The Bridges at Hollywood Casino - Bay St. Louis

10. Windance - Gulfport

Don't agree with Tempest being left off in Texas but we're still so young we probably haven't hit the minimum threshold of raters.

We are the #42 overall and #7 public course in the Dallas Morning News. state-wide rankings.

Some of those Texas courses are private and Palmilla Beach has only 9 holes.

Golfweek is usually behind on updating stuff, I used to be on their rater panel.

Yes they really need to distinguish between public and public resorts that you have to stay at to play. They aren't really public, you cant just walk up and play.

Mossy Oak should be ahead of Fallen Oak..English Turn should top the list of disappointments with the Bluffs #2

Is Gray Plantation private now ?

That was a spectacular course before Rita...

The Texas courses are a little suspect.

I'd rather play Wolfdancer in Bastrop than Memorial Park any day.

The TPC Houston is a tough S.O.B. when the wind blows, but it's not very pretty.

Houston area is really lacking with good public courses right now.

Old American is where the lpga tour is this week. Looks like the freeze took a toll on them. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them close for a while.

Pine Dunes is so overrated. It’s in the middle of nowhere & an average course at best. The Clubs at Kingwood (Deerwood) is way better, but I think it’s private. I played it through ClubCorp.

That they got that place playable for a pro tournament is incredible.

Deerwood, Riverbend, Champions and Pine Forest are all private but they will make you a better golfer.

All four make you use every club in the bag.
