Need to take a client for a round of golf in Shreveport next week and need some recommendations on courses. Any feedback is appreciated.

Squire Creek is the only answer. If you want to close the deal make some phone calls and get on.

This board never disappoints.
Baw wants to play in Shreveport- First answer is to drive over an hour away

At this time, East Ridge is your only real option (if you can make a call to get on).
Southern Trace is closed for renovations.
Stonebridge is decent but not very impressive.

Since he'll be headed back to Conroe afterward, probably not a good choice.
Next?

There is not a ton of impressive golf in Shreveport. East Ridge is currently the nicest and best maintained course. It's private, so you'll need a connection to get on.
Querbes and Huntington are muni courses. They are generally in good shape and fun to play, but they are pretty basic and not very impressive. Out of the two, Huntington is the more difficult course, but not in an awesome part of town. Querbes is flat and has no hazards. There are some good restaurants nearby, and it has a nice little club house.
There are a few courses over in East Texas that are supposed to be nice, but I have not played any. Tempest is one I can recall.

Tempest is a nice course, but it is in Gladewater which is an hour from Shreveport, so you have the same problem as with Squire.

Stone Bridge in Bossier is decent but it's been a minute since I played there so not sure of condition. I would stay away from Hunnington, maybe try East Ridge, I hear It's in great shape.

As far as courses you can get on without a membership, Stonebridge is probably the answer here.
If you can find an in, Eastridge is private, but worth it.

Pfft, there's always the shite house on 12 to consider a hazard.

Stonebridge is in pretty good shape and is pretty nice, somewhat challenging. Probably your best bet. Northwood, Crooked Hollow, Huntington are others but not as nice and not in as good as shape. Still decent though

Much better layout than ER

I do know a few good players who don't love the ER course layout, but I'm not sure Stonebridge is much better. ER is unquestionably the best maintained course in the area at the moment. But I agree that out of public options, Stonebridge is the place to take somebody on for a business oriented round. I suggested the Texas courses because that puts his client at least in the direction of home and I've heard they have some fun tracks over there.

I live in Bossier. Not counting private courses, Stone Bridge is probably your best option. I played two weeks ago and they punched the greens so maybe they will be in decent shape by now.
Old Oaks has the best layout in town but Old Oaks greens are bad bad right now.
Surprisingly, and for the first time since I was 13, Querbes and Northwood have the best greens in town. Both are very slick right now. Northwood has a great back nince. Huntington is pretty fun too for a city course but they just punched their greens.

I agree. When it was in good shape, which has been a while, Old Oaks had the best lay out by far. Stone Bridge and Old Oaks are owned by the same person now.
I plan on joining East Ridge though because they dropped their entry fee and price per month. Even if it's not the nicest layout, the condition of it makes up for it.
Squire Creek is an hour from me and they are $300 a month for people that are out of town. That's so tempting but man two hours of drive time a couple times a week would get old quick. I like to go play 9 holes at least once a week after work.

You won't get the out of town rate if you live in Bossier

I just talked to her last week. It's $100 a month discount from where I live. $200 if you live 100 miles out.

That must be new. It was over 100 miles only last time I looked at it. It's still full initiation too so I'd be sure you're actually going to go there and play

Yea it's $7,500 that you can split up in two payments. pretty steep. I'd love to because it is definitely nicer than anything in Shreveport/Bossier, but the drive would definitely limit how much I would play.
