Really? That's interesting. I just talked to the guy last week and they dropped the rates and entry fee because they were trying to get new members. He didn't mention a waiting list.

I'd love to see the mach one greens Southern Trace is doing and maybe that takes the course to the next level but that is like the most overrated course of all time. It's always been the most expensive place by far and every time I've played there it was never in great shape and it's a pretty bland layout.

Buddy currently been on list 3 months and probably won't get in until late June. Been that way for almost a year I believe. I think it's largely tied to Trace conditions. Worth the wait imo. Price is reasonable, and no other course in town is close in terms of conditions. Plus you get to use 265 for practice.

Trace is fun to play, but I tend to agree. They'll never be able to fix flooding issues on lake side of the course. And with them going member owned, I suspect dues are going to be absurd

What is that? Guess I'm not familiar with it.

I called them when I was calling around last week just to see, and with a cart it is $500 a month with a $2,500 buy in. $400 without cart plan People are going to pay it but that's pretty ridiculous.

265 is the David Toms academy. First time I went i thought it was like a golf mecca. ProV practice balls and everything . It's online if you google it. I basically go there to hit balls and occasionally practice wedge game on the par 3 course. Included in ER membership

Ahh. I didn't realize that was the name of it. That's awesome.

That is awesome, the dude didn't mention that. But at this point I think I might not have talked to the right guy

Just called up there again and I did talk to the wrong person. It would be $410 for me not $310 and 52 people ahead of me on the waiting list.

Kind of makes the Stonebridge/Old Oaks $250 a month, no buy in seem a lot better. And the $300 out of town rate at Squire Creek for that matter. Their amenities are so nice. Doesn't help with how indecisive I am

If I were just looking to play to scratch the itch I would do the city membership. I think it's like $1200 or 1400 a year with cart iirc. Old Oaks is in awful shape, and it doesn't seem like it's gonna get any better. Basically a pasture at this point, and they closed the best 9 permanently. I played Stonebridge a few months ago and it wasn't great either. Querbes at least (haven't played Huntington in a couple years) is in significantly better condition than the Bossier courses. I certainly wouldn't pay almost double to have to drive all the way out to SB or OO.

Stonebridge is a goat ranch compared to what it use to be. East Ridge is the best option in the area.

I play 2-3 times per week. I just like to play all over but it is definitely more expensive doing the way I do. I used to be a member at Querbes/Huntington but they just went up to $220 a month (if you don't pay upfront) with a cart. It's $110 without a cart. Querbes greens are in great shape and Huntington is in pretty good shape too but the crowd on the weekend is just ridiculous. Plus I live maybe 10 minutes at the most from Stonebridge.

Like I say, I'm indecisive

Put your name on the wait list at East Ridge then go join the city membership. By the time ER gets to your name on the list you’ll be so tired of the city courses that you’ll gladly pay the higher cost at ER.

Problem solved … quit waffling back and forth.

Oh wow if you play that many rounds I'd absolutely get on list at ER. I didn't realize the city memberships had gotten so high! ER course quality is light years ahead of the other options in the area until trace is back up and running. I wish I had times for 2-3 rounds per week - I probably wouldn't suck so bad

For a public course, I would go to Northwood. I played it a couple of weeks ago, and it was in good shape.

Obviously if you can get on to East Ridge, do it; it's the best around.

The clubs near me in Mississippi are all raising dues way higher than this.

It’s insane.

Southern Trace, following the renovation, is by far the best golf in the Shreveport area. Fantastic condition and the changes to the golf course are fantastic. Go play if you have the opportunity. I don't think any will be disappointed.

I personally play The Challenge at Cypress Hills in Waskom. Any of you boys ever play there? What’s your opinions of it. I like the layout, but the quality of the course is not the best for sure.

Good to hear Northwood got their greens back after they killed them. Trails End in arcadia is another fun course that's off the beaten path for most.

Did Southern Trace change the layout of any of the holes? I thought they were just redoing the greens.

I was in Bossier City today & drove by Barksdale. Is the course there still open? If so, is in decent shape?
