Typical that you question the bottom two, but not the two legit candidates.
Yes, Burmester has been climbing up OWGR on his own this offseason with 2 wins on DP & just finished T3 with Rahm.
Ancer may be a stretch but he has played in the last 4 Masters, finished top 40 last year, & they only have 1 Mexican player in the field currently.
But yeah let’s ignore Niemann & Oost who legit deserve to be there

Perhaps I didn’t comment on them because I think they should be there….
Don’t have to take everything about LIV so personal

The Masters Committee, at its discretion, also invites international players not otherwise qualified.
They’ll likely invite most of the LIV guys anyway.

Unless PIF/PGA merger gets done soon, I don’t think so. Jay had Fred Ridley doing his dirty work after the initial departure of LIV guys in 2022.
I’d be surprised if LIV has 15 guys there

Gooch not qualifying in any of these is insane given how impressive his play was last year on LIV.
The world of sports is highly corrupt. The PGA and World rankings are no exception. Rather than just getting it right these corrupt officials want to explain how the best of the best pro golfers don't deserve the opportunity to be among their peers.
If you happen to come from Idiotville and don't have any common sense you buy what these entities are selling. Otherwise, it's just more nasty politics.

This leaves the door open for a few LIV guys - Niemann, Ancer, Oosthuizen, Burmester
A ton of LIV players have committed to International Series Oman on Asian Tour in a couple weeks, including these 4. At least they have a chance to get OWGR pts soon
Entire Torque GC & Stinger GC teams
Peter Uihlein
Hudson Swafford
Abraham Ancer
David Puig
Anirban Lahiri
Kieran Vincent
Scott Vincent
Jinichiro Kozuma
Lucas Herbert
Matt Jones
Eugenio Chacarra
I’m sure many of them will also play in International Series Macau the weekend after LIV Hong Kong

Butch Harmon was in Vegas for Brooks. He’s Tommy Fleetwood’s coach as well.

There are a ton of celebs in Vegas for Super Bowl that will go watch LIV. However, Fleetwood choosing to show up at a LIV tournament regardless of where his coach is at, is surprising.
(I was told there would only be 100s of spectators
)
I don’t think this is any indication of him joining LIV anytime soon.

No need to compare numbers with the largest attendance in golf but kinda hilarious that someone thought there would only be 100s of people in Vegas.

Puig won on the Asian Tour this weekend & has earned a spot in The Open championship

Masters gave Nieman one of the special exemptions, which makes complete sense.
The others went to Thor and a Japanese player
Was interesting on the masters announcement they mentioned nothing of any liv performance. Like it doesn’t even exist. But truth is even without LIV, Neiman deserved the invite based on the Aussie Open IMHO
With this, I’d say Gooch is clearly the best player not in the masters. I wonder what his liv payout was because that dude fricked his career more than anyone

That’s great. Hopefully he will play well enough & get in to US Open too.
Seems like a premature decision since all 3 are in top 80 OWGR & could qualify on their own by reaching top 50 by April. I could be wrong but I would assume the early decision means these are the only 3 they will giving the special invite too.
Only other qualifiers will be PGAT winners & top 50.

Clearly still keeping their political agenda which is disappointing

It’s not political or corrupt when the OWGR/ Majors (same people) tell you exactly what you need to do to be recognized and then you choose not to align
It’s Livs choice. Guranteed money and guaranteed participation for popular players without ranking points or open tour where even the most popular guys can fall in and out and you get ranking points
The OWGR/ majors literally made it very clear and easy what they need to do
Unfair and racist : you can’t get in to the club because you are black
Not unfair or racist: you can’t get into the club with all white shoes
LIV is in bucket two and crying racism

Nice pivot, but I was talking about them not mentioning any of his success at LIV. They could have easily mentioned his playoff victory against former Masters Champ, Sergio Garcia. Another great international golfer - if that’s actually their intent.
How can they honestly say this?
& not mention anything about Niemann playing & winning against some of the best players in the world on a global tour

Niemann, 25, is set to appear in his fifth Masters, where he has made the cut in three of his first four Tournaments, including a career-best T-16 in 2023. He has top-five finishes in each of his three DP World Tour starts this season, including winning the Australian Open in a playoff last December. Niemann’s first Masters came in 2018 while he was the reigning Latin America Amateur champion and the No. 1 ranked amateur in the world.

If liv simply conformed and stopped being a toddler they would be mentioned. It’s their OWN CHOOSING

This isn’t about OWGR points or being a qualified tour.
They could mention his success playing on LIV. A tour that 7 of their Masters Champions play in. They’re obviously choosing to keep it political, which is dumb
