went to scheels hoping to replace my r11s. I had my eye on a ts2 or g410 plus. Asked to hit both in 9 and 10.5 degrees with a low launching stiff shaft. i hit a few with the ping before i realized he gave me the SFT instead of plus model and ping's higher launching shaft. when i asked for the plus with a lower launch shaft, the kid told me all stiff shafts are the same some are just different colors. I knew i wasn't listening to anything he said after this. I hit some more with the g410 in 10.5, put one 303 down the pipe. Never going back there for clubs, but I loved the head so i ordered one online with the even flow 6.0 in 9 degrees. I figure i can move it +/- 1.5 degrees and have no interest going up to 12. I am pretty pumped to get it!

Not how a fitting works. Should have gone to a real place.

Scheels is a large sporting goods chain in Midwest. Here is a LINK to their website.

G410 = best driver ever. Love that Ping is on a 1.5 - 2 year release cycle. They were going to introduce the G420’s or whatever this year but decided to wait til 2021, a full 2 years.

Been using a G410 with a Tensi Blue 60 since they came out, love the club.

Dead center hits just explode. I have a 10.5 adjusted to a 10 degree.

Read a lot of the same comments about the G400 Max. Anyone had an opportunity to compare the two? Been looking at snagging a G400 but curious if it's truly worth going for the G410 or if there are just minimal differences.

did you have to pay for the fitting? I wouldn't have if I couldn't even hit the stuff I wanted to hit. I was going to the beach and there is a golf place down there that advertised fittings so I scheduled one really early in the morning before my wife woke up and it was going to be 50 or 75 for a driver fitting. Got there and they only had shafts to fit the Callaway driver at the time and some different stock stuff. I refused to pay for the fitting as they tried to convince me that the callaway with a stock x shaft was perfect for me despite me not hitting it very well.

Can't compare the two, but I have a G400 Max. Very consistent driver and forgiving, but for me, it is a spin monster. Very playable but I am losing yards to spin and roll. But, I am a high spin player in general. Most people that have the G400 Max love it.

No, I didn’t pay. I asked to if I could get fit and had me enter simulator. I am sure they have employees who are good in the golf department, but the guy I ran into was horrid.

Guy at Dicks told my buddy the same thing. Essentially, that all shafts are the same. Said he heard it from Callaway.

Made me think three things:
1.) Kid was clueless and completely misunderstood what was told
2.) Not much yardage difference between flexes of the same line of shaft and my buddy misunderstood
3.) Callaway is watering down all their shafts because they know the average golfer doesnt get any benefit from stiffer flex low launch stuff.

I have heard the same from many club reps...basically a club manufacturer will buy a large quantity of shafts from say Matrix or UST. If the shaft is labeled as "Titleist exclusive" or "TaylorMade exclusive" you have purchased a head that was slapped on a shaft that is not necessarily what you're seeing; especially at the big box stores like Dicks. Is it an x-flex...Maybe...is it 60/70 grams...Probably not. I will always pay for the upgrade and wait for it to ship. it will normally come with a separate sticker from the shaft producer saying "authentic" or "hand made," Everything else is window dressing.

I have a Titleist 3-wood that I could not hit for the life of me. I got the shaft tested when I went to a tournament and come to find out that I was swinging a stiff flex/low torque/low kick point...when I was supposed to be swinging an x-flex/mid torque/mid kick...And this is one that came from direct from Titleist, so I can only imagine what some of the things in those box stores are selling.
