Best driver I ever had was the Titleist 905. Then came along the 440 and 460 cc drivers. I keep trying new ones and can't seem to find one I like and hit it as good as that 905. What's the smallest cc driver they make now?

I believe TaylorMade had a mini SLDR but it was 12 degrees? Iirc it was around 300cc.

I knew the mini sldr had lofts around 12 or so. I usually swing 7.5 or 8.5. I think I am SOL but was hoping there was something out there that I had no clue about.

I use the miniSLDR as my 3 wood. Love it off the tee.

My best scoring was with sub 400 drivers.

I am old though

I’ll try to post a pic of my old driver when I was a high school golfer then off to college.

It was a money maker. Now my 3 wood is bigger..

sub 400cc probably doesn't exist anymore for a true driver.

Callaway use to offer a 440cc XR Pro, and Taylor-Made had a 435cc driver a couple years back.

The only sub 460cc driver that is currently in production that I know of is the 440cc Taylor-Mades.

Please correct me if I am wrong, somebody. I like the smaller headed drivers and when I was shopping a couple years back I landed on the 440cc XR Pro. I love it, but would like to know what other options are out there.

I have always had a hard time turning the 460cc drivers, that is why i have always preferred the little drivers. But those mini-drivers that Callaway and TM made a few years back only came in 12° and 14° which is too lofty for me in a driver.

The 917 D3 is a 440. M3 has a 430
I really hope more club makers bring back a sub 460 head.

Speaking of smaller headed drivers, the TaylorMade 510 TP was GOAT.

Eta: Titleist 975 class are a close 2nd. I had a 975D and 975JVS 7.5 degree back then. They were sweet.

Not anymore. I don't think you can find one under 440. The first m1s were available in a 430 version. The titleist 915 D4 may have been a 430cc head as well, but they aren't that easy to find. I don't see any benefit to the smaller head except for lowering spin rates. But that can just has easily be done with the correct shaft, and you would have the added forgiveness of a 460cc head.

Edit: the d4 is 450cc

Ping G400 (non max) is 440 I believe. Love the smaller headed drivers.

I know the LST is sub 460. I am looking at that club really hard. It's down to that and a 917 D3.

I just love the pear shape of the Titleist. The only other driver I have liked as much as my current 913 was my Ping G5.

I got the LST. Phenomenal. Might sit a little fade biased.

Paired with the Matrix Ozik White Tie and this thing is awesome.

Promotes a fade or fights it?

Promote. That's my miss typically with any club, and I notice that I have to close the face a touch when I really get after it. Trying to find something credible and not.

Golfwrx alleges that it sits 1/3 open like the G LST.
