Going in a few weeks and might be playimg one of these two courses. For those who’ve played both, which is better? Any recent condition updates?

I'm actually playing Tradition Wednesday. I'll update on recent conditions. I've probably played it 15 times the last 3 years or so. It's my favorite reasonably priced course in Houston. I've never played Golf Club of Houston. I'm sure it's very nice, and maybe better than Tradition, but you won't be disappointed in Tradition.

Traditions is a much better track and GCOH but conditions are far more consistent at GCOH.

Wait, did I miss something? We're putting Cypresswood up with a PGA Tour caliber golf course?

We’re not doing anything but asking a question.

I enjoy both a lot. I can't speak to current conditions post winter apocalypse, but both are typically in good shape, with GCOH usually being a bit more pristine. One is obviously a (former) PGA event course, but there is something about Tradition that just fits my eye and I think it's my favorite course in the area. It will usually be a cheaper than GCOH as well.

I like both.

I like the layout of the Tradition a little better, but the GCOH is always in good shape.

Can't go wrong with either. Tradition is a little easier in that matters.

I am partial to traditions but can’t go wrong. The cypress course is a good course for the money too

I played Tradition today. Considering what the course went through last week, I thought it was in ok shape. I assume this was because of the ice, but the grass was mostly dry and brown, but the soil underneath was very damp. It affected my short game a lot. I'm not a great golfer, though. So, it could have been mental just as much as it could have actually been affecting me.

Also, the greens weren't in their usual great shape, but I wouldn't expect them to be. I'm sure they will be fine by the time you are out here.

Yea that is storm stuff. I only went out to the practice area of GCOH yesterday but the practice green was crunchy as hell. Probably dealing with similar consequences.

That said, I'd probably trust GCOH maintenance slightly more to recover the course quicker in this specific situation.

I love Tradition, probably best public in town.

Played cypresswood yesterday. Greens were slow and a little frustrating. Still in good enough shape
