Like the Bluffs where it was originally supposed to be but had to cancel?

It ended up being the busiest golf weekend in almost a year. Need those weekends after this past winter. No one is complaining.

no I mean to CCL or BRCC when the Baton Rouge area is supposed to host. theres 6-8 great courses in different host areas of the state that it should rotate amongst. Greystone and the bluffs shouldn't be on that list.

I know they've had lower than ideal turn out for a lot of LGA events in the recent years. But the State Am is at BRCC, and I expect the turn out to be strong.

IIRC, I don't think you even had to qualify for the State Am a couple of years ago. But tha tcould have also been hearsay.

I think you had to have a verified handicap and that’s it. Don’t remember if there was anything else

I didn't play last year, but in 2017 the State Am (when played at CCLA) had qualifiers with about 10-20 players per site.

I can't verify 2018 and this year, but it seems still popular enough to have qualifying events.

The mid am is the one that usually doesn't warrant one since it's not as popular IIRC.

Played out there yesterday. Greens were in good shape for BR area public courses. Best shape CM greens have been in years.

I counted 310 houses from google earth on the course, give or take 10.

That should be enough to save up for some grass.

They screwed up right out the gate. From it's inception, that place should have had a clubhouse with a restaurant, pool, tennis facility, masseuse, bar, card room, grill, salon, shuffle board, croquet, and a sauna.

All they have is a parking lot.

Played there yesterday. Greens were ok.
Looked like they had some dead spots on various greens that they filled with sand.

It looked like they needed to cut the grass in the fairways
Several of those pot bunkers were full of water.
Over all it was good. I do like the layout.

I played yesterday afternoon. They punched earlier this week, so I'll cut them some slack on the greens, but they could have used some top dressing and cutting. There were spots on the greens that didn't have any sand filling in the holes and spots that weren't evenly cut. But with that said, the non-punched portions of the course were atrocious. The fairways weren't cut, the tee boxes weren't cut. They have two green side bunkers that they are just refusing to do anything with and it seems like they are going to let them grow in? The other bunkers weren't great. They had an influx of what I call back yard grass on more spots of the course than normal. Not to mention the multiple spots where they've lost sections of the greens.

Also, gnats were out of control.

Not saying it isn't worth the $23 I paid, but I was shocked at how far that course has come.

And there is no way those greens are as good as Greystones.
